Very intresting yacht I wonder what the history behind this one. Lovely fitout although I would prefer a duckboard transom on a yacht this size for the coin spent.

What a joy to behold.
I will have to start buying lottery tickets again.

Cheaper than a mid sized house in a capital city minus the white picket fence, you don't need a lotto ticket to own one.

Hi all

What are the general thoughts on Roberts designs

Regards Don

Depends on construction. Fibreglass Roberts are OK. There was a professionally Canadian built 44 sold here a few years ago that was stunning. Hard to believe it was a Roberts design. Lot of lookers and it went to NZ. Looked through a 'glass Roberts 34 recently and I was impressed with the interior. I think they would be a good cruiser with reasonable sailing performance, not in the same league as the other cruiser/racer 34's like UFO's etc.

I can see more has been spent below decks then above, the sails also show no blue water cruising since rigging,
no duckboard and davits would be a total pain.

Needs a new fuel tank.
Does that mean the engine could be damaged?

Not sure if this has been on here before. Seems pretty good considering new motor n rigging.

Anyone know the boat at all?

Sold.

Bruce's yacht is down to 25 grand again!

It seems that boats in WA and SA are cheaper than the rest of Aus.
I love your posts Ramona.
Always interesting.

"Thriller".
Like the construction. Might be too thrilling for me to sail!

Looks exactly that, a 'thriller'.
But a '0' too much for me.

Thriller used to be called "Walk on the Wildside" from WA that we discussed on another thread recently

Needs a rudder!

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/rydalmere/sail-boats/folkboat-26ft-fibreglass-yacht-4-sails/1219468184

And here are the specs for a rudder...hmmmmmm.

Here is one with rudder and generally looking a lot better, plus a much more pleasant person to deal with.

Another exceptional buy.

Someone has a sense of humour with the bow anchor! Apparently there is an Aries as well somewhere.

That's a lovely boat. Diesel makes it even better.

I put a bid in but, long term I want something a lot bigger.
Do we agree anything under $7000 is great buying?

This has been on the market for nearly a year.
What do you think its true value is please?

https://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/adams-traditional-36/214595

I like the interior. Then I saw the dinghy on the davits, CQR on the bow, mast steps and switched off! Nice boat but it's looking for that one special owner. I would use that C&C36 in Sydney for sale at $19900 negotiable as a yardstick for value.

That is not a standard one. Very different cabin looks like it may have been purchased as a hull only and home finished.
It has been for sale for a few years

I sailed on one called Balamarra. Was slightly faster than the Mottle like all of the Adams design they are a good boat.

How's about 'racing and cruising', as you can see the spelling is not that good in the rest of the blurb.

Nellie Zander has dropped the price 2 grand in the first day! This is the ideal boat for solo circumnavigating Australia for the price of a TopHat!

I'm a fan of the Swanson 36 but this one also looks a good option for single handing.

At 5 tonnes she would be nice and comfy at sea, newish rigging and asking $17k looks an attractive option to me.

Scandinavian built, Baltic 37.

That is good value but I doubt it's that heavy. I reckon more like 4 tons.

That's on my wish list! I could live with the wheel steering. Good ad too with very good photos and a boat that has been tidied up and well presented for sale. Could get rid of the metre on the screen displaying OpenCPN nav programme, that's annoying! Dodger and CQR would have to go.

Mmmm... I think you are right Ramona. The ad says 5T but sailboat data says 3.175T for the same design.
