6'2 Drifter...had about 7 surfs on this board now, tried it as both a thruster & a 2+1. In head & 1/2 down to waist high reef & beach. Fun board to ride & an easy paddler, although not so easy duckdiving sucky beachy waves haha. Has reasonable single concave through a pretty flat rocker with light double into the fins. Flows well through flat spots & generates speed well. Pretty manoeuvrable but considering its a 6'2 I can't get it to cut back on rail as tightly as my other boards. I think coz it maintains a lot of thickness into the tail. Foam rebounds are effected coz of this coz I find I'm not rebounding from as high a point coz my arcs aren't as tight. Still really fun to ride though & feels great pivotting off the bottom & turning off the top. I feel like I can get fairly vertical off the top, but video will probably reveal I'm not at all lol. But yeah the shape suggests fun board & thats what it is...would really like to try the 5'10, I'd probably have much tighter cut backs. But then the trade off is the paddling & wave catching ability that I purchased it for to fill a gap in my quiver. Basically allowing me to get out there on a shorter board when I would otherwise have to grab my longboard due to the waves, how I'm feeling on the particular day or the number of people on 666's & longboards frothing for waves. This 38L board would probably float guys a lot heavier than my 80kg. But yeah I'm pretty happy with it & think it will really be a great asset surfing the local beachie this summer

Looks like a great board to fend off the loggers and 666's Mick while still having fun.............this weekend and next week is shaping up

Outline absolutely, bottom shape not so much...If I could customise it I'd go deeper concaves through the fins, have a thinner rail thoughout (domed deck) & have drop down rails on the tail to give it more bite along with the deep double concaves

Get some Webber flex twins (from Soar fins) and either his single tab flex trailers or some KS red nubsters into that bad board boy and you'll have more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
Because you have a chunky rail and plenty of foam the longer fin will feel great.

That's my board you described except mine has double flyers which makes it even better imo. My deck is pretty flat though, still nice low rails.

Same, but less area in the nose (Helps Duck Diving) no Flyers for on mine, though they would work well to pull the tail in a little - Its a Matt Biolas Ezy-up, slghtly moded with deeper concave Lower harder rails. Absolutely the ducks guts loving it. Much easier transition from that to a long board or visa versa for me if choosing to ride a variety on any given day.

Rode it once.
I've ridden that many "alternative" shapes I knew that it didn't bring anything new to my current quiver.
I have my 6' dvs wasp and 6'6" Rusty happy shovel (which has Sea shepherd keels in it) that are haul arse speed demons.
My lots of foam board is a Firewire activator with K2 keels and a nubster.
Sell it and let somone else have fun.

CF, might I suggest getting plugs in the PB, it is a good hull but the 3 glass ons retard it severely.Dont blame you for moving the 8nug along, just too heavy. The XF 8/0 is the one to get.

Tbh I'd rather sell it and spend the money on my motorcycle. Getting much more enjoyment out of that lately.
The Sunny hoax's fickle nature leaves one frustrated all too often so I am just not bothering chasing waves against tide and time lately.
As I said my current boards have conditions covered.

Cheers SP. Top one reminds me of that old Richard Cram shot from way back when... meanwhile the lady longboarder is looking at the wash with serious intent. I'd love to see what she did next.

The outline has been drawn and cut out. These got ordered last March (2015). Hopefully they are completed this year. 9'6" X 21 1/2 X as much as he can get out of the blank (around 3 1/2 Tom reckons - maybe a smidge more) and 8' X 21 1/2 X whatever he can keep (3 1/4 roughly maybe).

But they are babies next to this behemoth 12 footer. I simply can't imagine the waves it is capable of surfing, although I have seen pics of it in action at huge Margies. It gets stored at the factory for space reasons.

The broccoli board on the left, and four more out of frame, are for two Queensland blokes. Keep an eye out for them surfing five fin Precision Equip surfboards.

These two for me are the first boards I will have with The Claw, despite having 7 boards off Tom over the years.
