Shaped by Matt Wilkerson who's from Hawaii but moved to Australia. Believe he was shaping for Bennetts while in Sydney and has now moved to the Sunshine coast and shaping at Beachbeat. Used to shape Larry Bertleman twin fins and fyi has done a run of wicked Bertleman twinnies for Beachbeat. He's also shaped bonzers for the Campbell bros (Duncan is in Hawaii).
The customer didn't like the colour on his new custom so I couldn't resist as I don't particularly give a rats arse about the colour. Though I do like this.
Only had a larger set of the bonzer side runners, a pair of knubsters and no "bonzer" centre fin so the Alkali 7.25" was closest but what the hell I'll ride it like this and see how it goes. The bonzer concaves aren't showing up in the pics but they are there.

I love my 8' Carver so much I bought a 7' version (x 21 x 2 3/4) when it popped up on Gumtree. Yet to surf it due to other commitments but looking forward to it...

There's a local bloke who loves his Carver. The pintail is probably more applicable over here, but I reckon their rocker looks wicked fun.

I love the flavours of boards you get Cuttlefish. Like many people, I'd love to try a bonzer one day. I don't know anyone over here who shapes them.

I have just ordered two Claws though. That should possibly read Da Claws.

Got a text this afternoon. She snapped her board this morning and I could borrow the fins for a while.
He was in the shaping bay doing a single fin egg for her.

Edit ^^^ I see the bonzer fins are expensive AND out of stock. Seems strange to me how often some fins are "out of stock" even on the manufacturer/suppliers own website.

It does but its nowhere near as deep as the the concaves on the Campbell bros mini light vehicle (5'10") I owned briefly...though it has its own special bottom with some longer finger concaves running along inside the rail on that model too.
I don't mind its not as extreme as the concaves like you see on the Bing synchroniser for example...just cuts down on the versatility of the board, conditions wise, imo.
I read an article on bonzers years ago in which Malcolm said if you put a set of bonzer fins in any board it will feel better...or words to that effect. So I got a set of the side runners and put the large ones into a Michael Cundith 7T which was a 70's single fin templated board with modern rails and a single to double concave bottom. Board felt really good with them in there.
When I went into the factory to pick up the siderunners yesterday there was another two bonzers waiting to be sanded so words out on them around here.

So far so good. Took it out for an early at my local point which was doing its best to be especially burgery.
Then took it for a run later on mid tide which had more oomph.
Buttery smooth in a relaxed way. Very impressed with its section making capability. Turned easily and had a good turn of speed. Had one with a long tapering wall that stood up on the inside and the board really picked up speed. Started dragging my hand in the wall to slow down a little and thought of stepping right back on the tail to slow it down but figured what the hey and just let it have its head.
Scored a Deus exmachina bonzer 7" fin from a mate and put that in so look forward to feeling the difference underfoot.
Now all I need are the proper front bonzer runners.

I'm looking at adding something a little shorter to the quiver. I've come across a lovely little Grant Miller board. It's dimensions are 7'2" x 21 1/2" x 2 1/4"..

As a 90ish kg, somewhat beginner, is this thing going to comfortably float me?

I agree with CF that board is way to thin for you at your level. Try and find something similar but a bit thicker - like 2 7/8.

that is a seriously good looking wave. Although by the looks of the few clips I've seen Tux would of had a pretty decent substitute the last few days..

Hey Mr K, Definitely too thin. Somewhat beginners (and most others) are far better off being a bit over-volumed than being a bit under. I've learned that over time. Every few years I forget and I learn it again. Cheers

Yeah its kinda the same but I reckon Anchors has a few more barrel sections and if its goes anywhere near hooking up with hashies its ****ing rediculously long
