No rear wing/fuselage!?

There is so much the tech inclined can play around with....interesting to watch it all unfold. Maybe that will be the norm in a few years....

Hi colas, when we look at the gong website in Australia it says the prices are inclusive of vat. Does this mean an international purchaser can then deduct vat from the price advertised on the website, a deduction of 20%. If so the prices certainly are very attractive

May I also suggest that gong try to get some ambassadors in capital cities and major surf hubs around Australia. I find it hard to commit to a product that I have never seen in person.

With that said does anyone in the Perth metro area have a gong foil or kite that i can look at ( or perhaps gently fondle)

Only just fitted in the shed !

I have my shed opposite a path down the side of my house guess what ? its only 90cm away ! I could just get the 80 down the gap - so I now have to take the foil completely apart to get to my Van! Can't wait to get it on the water tomorrow

They ship foils but not boards.

I'm currently riding a 2018 Naish Thrust Large, with a WestCoastFoilClub 4'8" and prone surfing. Which size Gongfoil is the prone surf foil?

I'm getting pretty interested in downwind runs. Which size Gongfoil would you suggest for downwind? I realize I'd probably need another board too, been watching craigslist for that.

Oh yeah, I'm 6'1" and 185#.

The SUP and prone surf foils are exactly the same. They come in M (70cm) L (80cm) XL (90cm) and XXL (100cm). for the main wing. There is only one stab size.

Basically, for lightweights (<80kg) M is for surfing and XL for downwinding, otherwise L + XXL. But of course it depends on technique and intended use, etc...
So I guess that for you, the XXL would be the downwind choice.

For ease of pumping, you can put a kitefoil stab (they come in 2 sizes: 40 and 45cm), but it is not advised for learning, it is noticeably less stable and more dangerous (sharper edge). I dont know if it would help in downinding.

I think I solved the zuma footstrap placement question - the xxl allvator definitely flies better with your rear foot well behind the mast ( is this a thing with bigger foils?) common sense tells me that the pumping action will work better if you see-saw either side of the mast.

Didn't try the XXL wing yet, but yes, all people having them said they had to adjust their position to fly with them compared to the smaller ones.

I know Beryl puts his rear foot before the mast to pump on take off, then puts it behind for turning. Also he unweights his rear foot a lot on pumping, only the toes are touching the board at times.

Has anyone gone back and forth from the 70cm to the 80cm to compare the two? I'm prone foiling and want the 80cm but am worried I'll miss the size and maneuverability of my current wing Naish Large, which is comparable to the 70 cm.

Hdip, I don't know, I haven't used the Naish. It depends on your weight and conditions I guess.

I encourage you to ask the question on the Gong forum, maybe some people here have compared the 2 wing sizes.

Any possible comparaison with the GO FOIL Maliko ?

I am interested in the Gong Foil but I am worried about the tail that is not elevating like the one on the Maliko

any opinion ? Does the GO Foil configuration mean you ll fly earlier with less speed ?
