Mmmm...x yachts. Troubadour, does the 342 have the removable panel in front of the companionway? I remember you remove the panel to pick up the hook attachment in the floor that was part of the galv alloy frame, and you lift the boat on that one point.
Love the alloy frame concept, that I thought was just brilliant.

It is a brilliant boat, just came down on price 10k and the dealer David Mason-Cox is a very decent bloke (ex Commodore of MBBC) who helped me a lot when l bought my yacht.
It might cost a bit more than 12.5k but at least it is in one piece!

It looks like a very busy boat.

Yes that's it. Last time I saw the listing the price was a lot lower. It is the one troubadour worked on. It is not here at the moment and it's either on his other mooring in Jervis Bay or he has sold it. This one is very well fitted out and no expenses spared. Big boat for 33 feet!

Another boat worth a look is this Ohlson 35 that has been for sale for a long time. These are a few years old now but reported to be excellent boats. I have been watching this one for a long time. Years ago I was tempted to buy one from NZ and sail it home but chickened out! Like a grown up version of an SS34. Interior looks a little dated now but they are asking for offers!

Yes, Andrew68, l drew attention to that one too, further back in this thread. That boat is on the market for yonks. It was listed for much more money, no move, he dropped it and it is still there. I wonder if it's ever been sailed?

No, you won't. There a re a few listed below $20K but I can assure you there is a reason for that. A good Compass will still cost $25-30.
But the point is, the Clansmans are sturdy built and for $10-$14K they are a good value even if you just want it for to live on. Bloody tinnies cost that much these days

That's a lot of boat for the money. Like the pulpit design and the appropriate sized Rocna. It is big though and the loads on the rigging and the weight of everything mean this is a boat for younger people. Costs for running this sized vessel, mooring fees, rego, antifouling and slipping fees and marina etc however is more in line with what a wealthy self funded retiree could afford. Going by what I see locally large boats, boats over 35 feet don't leave their mooring very often.
As for a replacement for your last vessel I would reckon after you have cruised with a large steel yacht this would be a breeze to handle.

If you were a pensioner in NSW then you would be only paying 50% of rego, mooring fees etc!

A few good little ones for those just starting out sailing.

Yeah I would question that about s&s design , I thought the bikinis looked nice. Boats been on the market for a while. Mate owned it years back lived aboard with two small children.

I know of good ones sold one that a friend sold new motor and he only got 20.
Advertised and selling are two different things

Probably inspired by Sparkman & Stephens! Like the interior but might have to change the seventies coloured cushion covers. Cutter rigged with a self tacking staysail would be easy to handle. Don't like the davits of course, this makes it a motor sailer and this brings us to the engine. I would check just what engine it actually has. I have an MD7b in my Currawong and it's adequate for that, fat 35 footer not so sure. Has a saildrive too which might be a few years old now! Several really nice Duncanson 34's about. I would prefer one of them and toss the wheel steering.

I'm actually not interested in it. I just got a giggle out of the ad .

I may be a bit of a freak in that Duncansons do absolutely nothing for me. I don't see the appeal.
Maybe akin to my not 'getting' Bob Dylan ...or Paul Kelly??!!
