iSonic 117L at the end of winter, Neil Pryde Glide2020 last month. Love the board on fin at 20knts+, and the combination with foil is brilliant. Great to learn something new again with the foil, but now pretty relaxed flying across the lake, what a summer we had here in Canberra, 24 sessions so far...

I suppose 20knots wind and fin is with a 7.8?
Have you sailed this board also with 7.0&8.6? I wonder what windrange you have experienced (lower & upper) with this board.
Which fins are you using?
Thanks!
Hi Wytze, I got the board from a guy in Qld, I got his fin a Vector 42, pretty happy with it, never had a issue or spin-off. I sail a Severne 5.5 or North Solo 7.0 just the 2 sails I have, basic but fine. I am quite light (67 kg so don't need much). I now use the foil for below 20knts, struggling a bit above. Have been to 30knts but wasn't too confortable myself. The board is super light (carbon) and reactive, great fun with super early planing and great to gybe at full speed.
Quite fragile though, any touch of rocks or boot of the car will mark, I have glued a thick foam mat on the nose for catapults. I had to get used to having the straps so much on the outside but it's great now. My straps (white, light ones) are ok, light, not the most confortable and hard to adjust (screwdriver only) but still fine. I have been swaping the fin or foil no worries in the deep tuttle box (so far)... Are you looking at buying the same one ? Cheers.
It's more looking around what to expect from a medium slalom board.
Of course the Isonics look nice.
From the specs and what I've heard a 70-72 wide board would suite my 7.0&8.6 combo a bit better then the 82wide Mistral I have at the moment.
But I will lose some low end.
It will be more fun at the high end :). Maybe can reach 35-40 knots if the water is flat.
For the low end I could add a formula board and a race foil and foil with the same sails when the wind is light.
Not that I have to change, it's not cheap :), but always good to look around.
freestlye/ carve-foiling could also be an option and sail with wave sails and minimize gear. Not easy nowadays :)
