Is this seriously a chance of preventing the comp being held there at that time?
If constructions start at the end of the year... yes.
Is anyone able to confirm yet (or anytime soon)?
You'll have to ask the Fed Government. Apparently the WA government is waiting to see if there is some mulla for this project as part of the Infrastructure Australia investments.
But given the Rudd governments track record of actually getting projects out the door I wouldn't hold my breath (any remember the national broadband network, 2020 summit etc. etc.)... so this could be a none issue.
Is there a back-up option nearby (with similar waves), or would it be held at the main spots in town?
Point Moore has two breaks... one great for jumping the other great for riding waves. It's not as good as Spot X but in my opinion the rigging is a million miles better.
There is another spot I can think of but I think I'd get lynched if I even mention the name here.
Is this a post that contains too many questions starting with the word "is"?
I guess time to put it to rest... and wait for someone official to step in and take control.
