Already has. I went and had a look at my local and it wasn't going off, but there were more than a few decent waves. Beach is mostly gone. Yippee, early start to winter banks (shame you're not supposed to surf there for another month). There were lots of boards out, storm keeps the rangers at bay. I was tempted to hit it for an hour but decided I was a bit late.

Hopefully the S-T stretch develops something interesting. Fingers crossed.

yeah was good slightly nth of perth in the morning.

It is amazing though how quick word spreads of reasonable surf. A few guys having a good time surfing turns into a bloody hassle fest!!!

Changes the whole "vibe" of the session

Could've been worse though, could've been working

Minor change of subject, any one been to wedge of late.. any banks besides the usual bay working? May have been a good weekend up there but work got in the way

G'day Perth crew... anyone been to Trigg today...? Just wondering if the banks have improved between second & third carpark... also, looks like a much fuller tide.

Thanks for any update.

I've only looked on the cams. It looks like despite significant beach erosion it didn't result in any usable banks. Just a shallow straight bank out deeper, then a deep gutter closer to shore. A bit like early last winter, from which it never really recovered. Other beaches (that receive less swell in general) might be more promising. I will go for a walk on the weekend and find out.

Bigger storms are required for decent banks.

Woah, swell jump today. Couldn't go this morning, but will for the next couple (tomorrow at least, Thursday depending on conditions).

Too big today, at least before sun up. I walked down the beach as it was still darkish and there was already a guy on the beach with a snapped board. Closing out all up and down. It dropped a fair bit in 2hrs, but I still struggled to find many decent waves among the straighthanders. The guy getting the best waves was on a booger, pulling into closeout death pits of sandy foam.

A lot of water movement, and some semi-permanent rips setting up so hopefully it'll help break up the banks a bit.

I reckon Saturday will be worse. Could be fun to watch the carnage at Trigg. But for me I'll have to find somewhere else, and there aren't many options that'll be working I reckon.

I agree. Trigg 3rds was close-out city on Saturday... not a single shoulder held up for the 90min I was out.

I reckon it will be worse on the weekend - still no banks, and a 1000 desperate surfers who will be competing for anything that looks like it might hold up - and not forgetting the 100 learners and P platers who sit on the inside and paddle straight into a close-out.

I wish it was big enough to scare off noobs, know a spot that will be crankin with only boogers on it, they are young boogers that dont get in your way so I mite get a couple

This morning sucked. Closeouts, smaller than yesterday, enough crossshore to mess it up. One or two fun takeoffs and one or two fun turns but it was a struggle to find anything worthwhile. Should probably have stayed in bed.

There aren't many other options before work. I'm not a fan of any reef breaks in Perth. I surf beachies 99.9% of the time. Just have to deal with the shortcomings at this time of year. Maybe I need to explore. I'm definitely stuck in a Trigg rut. Every now and then I go for a drive but there aren't any super secret reefs or beaches I'm not aware of in the metro area that I'm willing to visit.

Once winter comes and a few swells and all day offshores I can go to work early and leave early and drive to get arvo surfs in in better locations.

Check Albany, it's blown the top off . Almost double Tuesday, and that resulted in solid 3' sets at Trigg (see the pictures in that "falling off" thread on the SUP forum).

You're surprised? We're blocked by Rottnest and outer reefs, Mandurah's not. How much bigger was it? It was a solid 3' at Trigg, which isn't that common. Quickly dropped to 2' though not long after sunrise. I might see you tomorrow . I'm banking on a 6hr session, it'll take that long to get 3 waves with the crowds.

Anyway, the SUP vid of Avalon didn't look 3', more like 1-2' (being generous on the 2'). Maybe the fisheye lens and the SUPer sitting way down the shoulder of the middle of the bay didn't help.

Yes the swell needs to be from the west to get the impact of the swell. Avalon with longboards and SUPs would be a nightmare!!!
