Good score for those that did the early this morning. Trigg had a light offshore with some really clean little peaks coming through, lefts and rights up and down the beach and very few out. Water was as warm as toast too.

^^^^ maybe you were too early. I was there from 7 till 8 and it was good. It was random as in the banks weren't great but the lumps of swell coming in were really peaky with lefts and rights, not straight and shutting down like it can be.

Damn, I went down to my go-to summer spot and the bank is not happening at all any more. It's done. From past experience, that's it for the summer (sucking dry on the bank and deep water right next to it means it requires very particular conditions).

Next go-to spot was not happening either. There were a couple of shorebreakers that looked OK (not really worth a paddle but I was desperate) but I had some shoulder pain from stuff I'd done today so I gave it a miss.

Well - sadly, I missed out too... [family commitments]. Might have to see about an early on Tuesday...

Mate of mine went North - he hasn't given me the report - but I suspect the Southerly got the better of it today.

Well yesterday at a certain beach south of Perth the clubbies decided to use almost the whole beach for their own use, still got waves but not happy Jan

I dont mind the flags, but the whole beach!! There was even a clubby guy surfing who said that he had been trying to get them to move it to another beach or further down where no one surfs.
I really dislike the we are lifesavers so we can have the beach if we want it attitude. Sucks for average beach user.

That is my local doggie as you know and could not believe it when i walked over the hill. How much more beach do these guys want? It made a crowded spot ten times worse.

So what would happen if you still decided to paddle out? Do they still have jurisdiction in the water?

If memory serves me correctly, they yell at you, threaten to confiscate your board and then you move. Respect to the clubbies though, they do an awesome job and save many lives it just seemed as a young bloke that the best waves at Trigg were always between the flags!!

Bloody Hell! After missing out on the weekend I decided to do a rare before work early - checked the forecasts and although I knew it would be small I thought it'd be worth a play...

Packed the car last night - included the mal just in case - and set the alarm for 5:30am. Like a little kid at Christmas I woke up a couple of times in anticipation...

F-me! Flat!! Barely shin high. And looking forward it looks as though it's going to get even smaller...

If you want to get really political about it, I read in my local paper that they only have powers up until the low tide mark on the beach. It was mentioned in my paper because kitesurfers had begun frequenting a dog beach near me and the idea of a 'no kitesurfing' rule was thrown about. But then they mentioned that they could not prosecute them even if they still chose to kite surf because the council actually only owns the land and not water. Same applies to clubbies, they are allocated under local council law and don't actually, technically have rights to the water.

Although you'd probably get a punch in the head from an angry clubbie.
