Yep...I'm the only one out of my mates still regularly getting in the water.
Bunch of pussies

Zuke's spots are a little bit sharkier than average. Must admit I might well have second thoughts about going with him too, right now. Even on a good day.

As an example, if everyone else was surfing Trigg on a crystal clear day, sun shining, surfing with Zuke would be like paddling out at Trigg Point, then 100m further out by yourself on the reef with a half a sheep tied to your leggie under the only cloud in the sky with the water all murky right where you were.

But yeah...this week looks to be a write off. I'm going to go bat5hit crazy.

I love summer - . hot chix in bikinis, barbies down at south beach, taking my kid swimming, balmy nights, picnics. I for one will be learning to kite surfing this summer...

plus this summer is super special for us as we are expecting our second child in a couple of weeks.

Its all good bro...its about looking at the positives!

One of my spots is so far out and so secret I'm pretty sure the sharks don't even know about it. I think that's why there always seems to be a bunch of sea lions huddled up over the reef right in the lineup. They must feel safe there.

^^^^ No, just dodge them. I've never hit one, they just move out of the way at the last second.

Maybe you should come out doggie, aren't sharks scared of dogs or something like that.

Best part is when they're both awake at 3 in the morning going nuts and when the older on thinks the new one is a doll and when they've both got teeth coming thru at the same time and when.....

Sorry swalkington but I don't give specifics like naming places. I will say that it might have taken a couple of hours to get to.

Well, this thread's gonna be quiet for a few more days....

...unless Zuke shares some tales of outter reefs [and none of us would expect him to]

Agree
Considering getting a SUP even if it just means I can get out there even if it is wave-less and paddle around a bit rather than being stuck studying all day...

Radio yesty said they were tracking two in the choppers, one at Green Island and the other at Strickos.
Lucky there's been no swell, last few days would've been marginal even for Chickens.

Sigh, problem with shark attacks is the media seems to just hype it up making it seem even worse ...

Just a question guys, would driving further out of the metro area yield anything? I'm sick of this flatness and want to just chuck my boards in my car and search the coast for SOMETHING!

IMO it would not really be worth driving to the breaks an hour or so north of Perth... they will still be too small.

Best bet is the South West... there's a couple of 'small swell magnets' down there that will still deliver shoulder to head high waves on the smallest of swell. However the tides will be critical...

There's a couple of well known breaks around the Dunsborough / Yallingup / Margaret River region that I would be checking...

EDIT: Red Thumbed for offering non-specific and general advice regarding a 20km stretch of coast 'renowned' for its surf breaks...
