Yes, he is "lugo" on the Gong forum, 85kg. With a Gong XXL pro wing (the old name of the "curve") and 40cm kite stab.

The Gong forum have many threads of people discussing dock starts, notably because the various French lockdowns made them able go only to inland waters.

The long "Pump board DIY" thread is also quite interesting of people just using some plywood as boards for dock starts (it avoids dinging a real board). E.g:

Waves or wakes?

Such good style!

HAve been getting back into Downwind foiling a bit of late. It is truely the ultimate in Foiling. It is potentially a long and challenging road, but worth every bit when you get some golden glides in the middle of no where.

Both runs here are in Broken Bay, where I Winged up to Flint and steel beach and packed down my wind then paddle foiled back down wind. This is in offshore (Westerly) winds, and hence no swells. Just wind chop. It is such a buzz surfing offshore without waves.

The first run was much more succeful than the second, but still super fun. Both videos are cut of a continual run.

So much fun, and looking forward to doing some more.

Amazing video Clay. Thanks so much for all the videos you've made of Johnny winging and now on a SUP! His style is one of the smoothest out there and your videos allow us mortals to break it down to hopefully emulate some elements of it.

Would love to hear him on some podcast talking about his views/tips/perspective on foiling, but I don't think he has (yet)?
