This was a record of session 37 in my attempt to learn to SUP foil surf. I am a pretty average SUP surfer and my progress in SUP foiling in the UK has been very slow but steady. I am a weekend warrior but in the North East of England the conditions for foiling are often a long wait apart. Nonetheless I am really loving SUP foiling. I feel like that teenage kid learning to surf all over again. I have only met a couple of others in the region trying it out but we are all loving it. It was 12 months ago that I was getting my first tows behind a jet ski and I am finally getting some OK rides which I am super stoked about. In this session (37) I felt like I made a leap in progress but also by pushing it I had my biggest wipeouts. I cannot wait for the next flight! Here is a video of some of the footage:

Here's a quick vid from a session I had on the new 2020 Naish Hover Wake 5'0". I wasn't sure this was going to work so well, but actually had a blast. This is a concept wake surfing, wake foiling, kite surfing, kite foiling board. Initially I would have said too low in volume to prone. But I must say it was easier than I anticipated and heaps of fun.

Whilst there is plenty of awesome and more suitable for surf foiling prone boards to choose from in the Naish Hover line up, this is obviously a sick travel option to cover as many bases as possible with excellent performance in Wake, Kite and Surf whether foiling or not.

And again on the kite just carving up the bay. No waves and offshore winds, but good fun seeing how hard I can push this board. Very impressed!

Thanks. I haven't surfed much down there but I know someone who foiled at Saltburn and said it was ok. That is a bit further North though.

Thanks. We have a very similar setup. I have the xl and the xxl. The xxl can ride such tiny bumps I often have to use a shorter mast due to it being so shallow on days that small. Loving the gong zuma 6ft 9. I find it very stable and wonder if I could use the 6ft 6 in the not too distant future. I would like to add a large to the collection at some point. At what point do conditions favour you going for the large? (Size, period etc)

I bet it is amazing in Cornwall with a ton of spots. I will be sure to message you if I come down. Thanks for that.

I am also thinking of dropping down to the Zuma 6'6 or may be something even smaller with a similar volume. I started out on the L wing and then got the XXL. I find the XXL wing so easy and relaxed to fly its all I have been using recently. Once the waves get to chest high I will drop down to a smaller wing. I only got the XL wing a few weeks ago and am looking forward to giving it some more use. I found the L wing is good from waist high up and is another great wing. I am very lucky as there are 3 great river mouth breaks that I can access.

A quick fun session riding tiny bumps at a "Secret" spot on the mid North Coast - Here's a little mash up.

No one out, onshore wind, but as always, heaps of fun!

Riding the new 2020 Naish Hover 110 (6' x 28") and Prototype 1800 JET HA wing with 450 rear on 75cm mast (Yes it was shallow out there, but no hits

- see pic below vid).

In which vid? The New Newcastle vid there was an amazing amount of moving water making it very difficult out there. But yes, still getting things fully dialled. Both the above vids I was using the same board and front wing but with different masts and stabs. Actually, I am pretty sure the Newcastle vid my mast was actually loose (rookie error), so it was very uneasy.

I am still a fan of more board vs less. You just have more fun.

First go at properly DW'ing with the Wing Surfer. A little trickier than the bay when out in the real swell and Bumps, but I got a few good open wing glides.

Here's a quick put together of some of the better un-wing propelled glides (there's plenty of winged glides).

Foil Bay not at its best, but beautiful light. Good fun considering the outer reef was pretty much closing out on the sets. Had fun dialing in the 2020 Naish JET HA 1800 wing (High Aspect).

The more I use the Wing Surfer, the more fun I'm finding it. At first I wasn't sold at all for DW'ing. But I'm getting better and starting to really get it worked out.

Today was SW and super gusty. 8-16kn and shifting to WSW. Riding an old Raptor 116 and the Thrust Surf XL.

I think I know why everyone else puts the leash on their wrist now (watch my stuff up).
