the most populous 2WD car on onnadatta track was Mitsubishi Magna. And also maybe more than any one make of 4WD

On my 2nd MQ gxl triton, went for tray and added aluminium canopy, awesome for storage and 100% access to stuff.

1st MQ triton was gxl tub ute with ARB canopy, useless for storage and crap access. Did 11000ks last year towing camper trailer thru SA, NT, WA, never missed a beat, stock gxl with BFG ATs and snorkel. Good fuel economy. After trip decided to change to tray and canopy.

Hold their value well too, paid $26500 for it with 40,000 ks on clock in as new condition and sold it 18 mths later with 84,000 ks on clock for $26500 ! Out of pocket $500 for the snorkel.

Well built, solid as, just before I sold it I got rear ended at about 60 kph, dented tub tailgate and bumper, didn't even break the tailgate glass other car was written off and driver to hospital, drove mine home with a bit of whiplash.

Is this because Magnas had reached the 'cheapest vehicle still registered' category or because they were reliable? I have noticed a lot of obviously worn out Magnas still making their way around, but I reasoned it as being that the people driving them had no other financial option as they were cheaper even than falcons and commodores.

The awkward moment when you found out that the Outback is actually wider than a Triton.... But Triton MUCH longer
