Got a solid 2 years out of mine before it exploded on the weekend, probably 100 -150 seshs, a lot of floggins and a gazillion jumps, all for a 1/3 the price of carby..
i'd defo go aeron again or any other alloy one piece.
Got to agree with Windy, any monocoque boom is worth a look.
Just stay away from these booms with the seperate head. I saw three of these broken within a week. Mine broke with only a months use and never saw a wave. They come with several different brands on them.
This wasn't my boom but the same end result.
all my old booms would always snap here.....
i came to the conclusion that the saltwater gets to the metal through the bolts/head and corodes an already weakend area caused by the bolt hole ,,,turning the alloy into weak mush... thats why i think the one pieces last a bit longer.
to get a bit more life ,i should rinse my boom after every sesh but i cant be arsed
just replaced with pro-limit monocoque... so far so good but head clamp not as good as aeron.
