using the shallow fins has added an hour or more of flat water glory to sailing at sandstone

Where's Pebble Beach?

@Gestalt: It's sail-able in any decent wind without too much north/offshore. So pretty much from WSW around to NNE you'll get away with it in decent wind. In lighter Wally World winds (<10kn) you can easy sail in any wind direction, but just remember that if something fails in a northerly, and the tide is high enough, you're going to be ditching your rig and paddling in on your board.

Yeah, we're a bit spoilt. Turner's Camp is good for NW round to E as well, but it can get a bit dirty sometimes and there's a lot more boat traffic than Sandstone.

Interesting session in the South Wester yesterday.
28 knot gust as Tony and I walked out at low tide, then about 5 after one planning run out.
Set the tone for the day. umpteen board and sail changes and none of them the right one ( except for Pope John, who is always planning ).
Adam spent the day on sitting the beach and wouldn't even go and get us beers.
Where were the rest of the regulars? Gardening, ironing pleats (again)????

I was at a wedding dreaming of windsurfing.

Bahha! I went and got a job. That's really stuffed my time on the water.
At least when the wind isn't blowing on my day's off, I can go fishing. (Which has always' been the case).

Really hoping for a few days light, Wally weather from Thursday arv - through Friday and Saturday.

Weekend is showing some potential.

I have been a few times, with all my friends, and I have proof on the latest Nearmap Aerial image in the area too.

Was desperate and went to the Surf side for a SUP last Sunday, but wasn't enough swell even for a paddle. Went for a ride along the beach instead.

So, from what I understand,
Bone's has more Brownie points than he will ever need.
JIrvan is flying all over the country attending random strangers weddings, and has become a Lumberjack.
Adam is actually working for a change.
Even Pope John's number are way down.
And Paddles is looking good for qualifying for the next Comm games..........in Netball.

Hopefully catch up on the weekend.

Some good mixed bag reefy's off the cape a couple of weekend's with the perfect weather for that.
Who else is in for the weekend? Perfect neap tide's for Sandstone too. Sunday's are work from now on though.

Saturday Sandstone?

Nice to meet some of the crew at Sandstone today but you guys have to bulldoze some parking space! Maybe cancelling all the kid party picnics would help also.
I went across to Bongaree which looked encouraging, into the car park furthest south. A 7.6 on my 140 litre board provided a bit of exercise and when the tide went into full ebb, the increase in apparent got me planing occasionally.
Riding the standing waves was fun, more surfing than sailing really. I will be back!

I was silly enough to not put my windSUP on the car on saturday so just gossiped in the park with the boys and didn't end up sailing. Sunday arvo it blew up after about 1400 and Johnny B got to sail past a slogging Bradley heaps of times while I stayed at home and pretended to be warm. Today looked effing fantastic on the forecast and the sky was blue as well, I put the windSUP on the car as a "plan B" and was glad I did, great windSUP conditions. Now waiting to see what tomorrow brings.

We had a bit of excitement with an unexpected visitor after you left John. Dags to the rescue....
