Beautiful day at Beachmere this morning, wind was a really gusty and the knocks were coming from different directions at times so it was a bit challenging up and down off the plane. Great day for the first ride on the new Magic Ride and how's the crowd? No-one else sailing, just Jason and myself.

Credit to local pro drone driver Jessica Culley for the money shot, where else would you rather be?

Hi Pete, board seems pretty good so far. The gusty conditions let me try it out both planing and just cruising along. There wasn't enough solid wind to have me in the straps yet but the offshore conditions let me get used to its bit more tippy nature when tacking. Uphaulng is no problem. It's volume/width is all around the mast base so if you want stability I move weight forwards and if I put weight on my back foot it turns really easy. Gets planing a lot sooner than the Express, but I use the same technique because if the 84cm width. Great first impression but I can't wait for a consistent wind day to start really getting used to it. Very happy so far though.

Yeah, she was keen it's not a cheap one either, it was the full commercial type. There's only one way it was going in that wind and that's out into the bay.

Ok in discussions with brad and tony we went to Scarborough oyster pt parade for a sail this arvo - gave turners camp a miss due to traffic associated with a concert at Sandstone pub

Wahoo. Had a great sail - shook out a few cobwebs so good to get going on a short board again.

Only took big gear so had my hands full as the swell and gusts were much more than expected. Got a few bruises.

Was good to get out, but had a shocker. Swell was surprisingly large as you got out. Had a run on Bone's Lightning with a much too large sail. Run out was great, stuffed up the gybe and then spent 15 minutes at least trying to get back going again. Luckily he spotted me and sailed down to me to swap my board back, (thanks for that, sorry to cut your fun short). Was completely stuffed by then and was set to float back to the rock wall and do the walk of shame.

Marginal at best fitness is well gone after a long run of not much sailing.

Looking forward to a few good days at both the Lakes to get some quality time on the water and find some consistency again.

If anyone's keen, I'm thinking of sailing the 15-20kn westerly tomorrow at Phillip Street. High tide around 9am.

Ok Sandstone kids, the wind has turned here at Beachmere now and its looking like the first NE of summer might be on this arvo so Pete and I are keeping an eye on it and maybe sailing from the sand spit at Turners if anyone's keen on joining us.

It's looking like the same again, Turner's on the high tide in a couple of hours if anyone's keen. Yesterday was a bit up and down, hopefully today will be more consistent.

Well that was rubbish, huddled with Pete, Tony and Walshie under a sail leaning against the back of a car thinking I wish this rain would stop and the wind would blow.

Great to catch up with the sandstone crowd, sailed bongaree fri with Pope John, turners sat with John pad, huddled under a sail in the rain with the boys on Sunday and pacific harbour today with Steve. There's always somewhere to sail at Bribie regardless of the wind direction. Unfortunately the wind strength was unreliable but great to be back if only for a week or so. Anyone sailing friday? Im off to the docs tomorrow so no sailing. Looks like a good noreaster Friday.

Will be at nudgee beach on Friday PETE. between shifts around 11.00 to 16.00hrs on the high tide. A North to NE is onshore with vast firm sandy shallowish areas. Rig at most northern carpark past the local store'. Best stay east of a line to shorncliff jetty as there is just a couple of small logs close inshore.

Looking like a windy weekend, Northerly at Turner's Saturday arvo and Southerly Sunday at Sandstone. Anyone got plans? I snuck out for a couple of hours on the pushy at dawn and the Northerly was just starting when I was on my way home, it's 5kn here now.

I haven't sailed Turners.

I think I might just have enough time this afternoon, if not I will have to go local.

What time is everyone getting there?

Hi Duncan, did you make it to Turner's? It sounds like Pete, Steve and Jeff were there and there wasn't too much wind. I'm going to try Sandstone tomorrow if the SE blows hard enough, I think there'll be a few of us there if there's wind.

Looks like it would be a good morning for Caloundra? I haven't sailed there for a hundred years but with an incoming tide ...

I'd quite like to get out sailing today, and would be for sure if Janet was keen, but she's busy selling puppies today. I've been asked to go out for a dirt bike ride so I'll go with that. I'm keen to try out the Naish GT's sometime soon.
