One of the tourists slipped the driver a $20 to see the look on your face

Bugger, sounds great. Will remember this weather pattern in the future, and know for absolutely certain that those buildings right up the north end of the river stuff up the airflow for sure.

Geez don't a couple of strands of seaweed on the fin make a difference! I'm talking a ribbon maybe 30 cm long, 5mm wide, really thin, suddenly you've got a noticeable speedbrake. Can't think how bad a shopping bag must be

Hi Nebs - great 3 days. Probably averaging 17 knots but a bit gusty at times. Lots of people which was fun I'm happy for a day off, not sure my hands and body can tolerate 4 days in a row

G'day Haircut, good to meet you & Brendan yesterday..been a few years since I sailed at the train, but a pretty good afternoon all in all apart from my little tangle with the rocks on the last run of the day . Keep min 30m clear in all directions of the yellow rocks hazard on the sth side of the channel, especially around low tide .

As discussed the WQ events for 05/06 have all been posted on the site www.windsurfingqld.com/ with racing this weekend @ Wello & then we have the Manly Wind Festival on the 28/29th Oct which will also be the State Titles. Fingers crossed we get some good wind as there seems to be quite a few interested in doing some racing this year, but having good conditions for the first event of the year always seems to help numbers....

Howdy Tim. Hope the the damage isn't as bad as you thought? Thanks for the link

wow! how good was that SE that blasted through?! I couldn't resist so i spent the last few hours at shearwater and it was still blowing hard when i left. After today and the last 4 days my hands look like I've just gone 20 rounds with mrs palmer and she was all out of lube not that i'd know anything bout that sort of stuff

Lucky bugger....I just tried to block out the fact that it was still blowing, got to keep my brownee points up for future leave passes!!

Front of my board is cracked & my favourite goldwing fin is looking a bit worse off for the experience as well as being wedged up into the box. Lucky I have an Uncle who does awesome board repairs though & is off work at the moment...

hi tim,

i hit the same rocks about 4 weeks back, hope your is an easy fix.

Eggs, Nebs, Haircut and crew.

ages ago i mentioned going to kingscliff for the weekend with work. It will be this weekend coming. weather is for cross offshore wind at the main beach. problem is a can't guarantee a time and the forecast is dodgey. but the forecast has been soooo wrong lately. Any ideas?

it is howling SE outside right now. 25 knots... was forecast 5 knots NE...

Haircut, sounds like you need to try sailkote's McLube...[}:)]

p.s...cudgen reef still scares me...

Hey Gestalt,

Cudgen lake is good when it's howling from the north (ie more than 20 knots at Currumbin), but otherwise only good for slogging. Where's Cudgen reef?

Was driving past Kingscliff the other day, it looks lovely to go out for a sail from the main beach there. I was considering it with those fantastic northerlies we've been having lately. The only problem is that I'm a bit chicken to go out by myself...

Email me your mobile and we can go for a sail if the wind's up.
