Arrrrgh looked at the diet link and thought that would last me 2 minutes before I couldn't go on. Truth is that most people can't change there habits in major ways (one heart attack under my belt so speaking from experience). Change must be sustainable and must be achievable. Our food intake nowadays is much larger than it was when I was a kid. We are eating bigger portions of everything and not exercising as much. The other thing that comes into play is that as we age our metabolic rate decreases. When we were in our 20s we could eat three pizzas and think about getting thin and it would just happen. Nowadays we look sideways at a pizza shop and we put on 2kg. Over the last 2 years I dropped almost 30kg and kept it off, in the last few months of winter I put on 10kg and now am working at dropping it off. The other problem we have nowadays is that we want a result today and that is simply not possible. It takes time and a healthy weight lose that is sustainable is around the 1kg per week. The final point is that we are all doing stuff we like to do so more SUPing, Sailing, kiting or whatever will help increase the amount of energy your body is burning. I still vote for developing a pill that acts right now and gives me a six pack and a chiselled jawline but that will probably never happen
