Managed to get a super deal on a second hand (basically new) ECS wideboy carbon 8"10" x 31" x 135L. I have surfed it once, as a quad and so far it appears to be a good board for what i'm looking for. Gonna try it as a thruster next surf... I think I'll prefer it that way...
The price was simply too hard to ignore... so I thought what the hell, I'll give it a go.
I'll take a couple of pics shortly.
Hopefully I can then finally get the 15-20kg off me that I want to and then I'll go down to about a 100L board.
I might just have to swing a flight up your way to try yours! haha.
The biggest thing I noticed so far on the ecs was just how fast it is.
I used to be around 85kg in the AIS, so hopefully can get over all of my injuries/complications (from being hit by a car) and get back into proper shape (and also get back into prone shortboard surfing).
If my body allows me, I'd love to prone shortboard bigger swells and sup surf smaller days. That errs me towards longboard style SUPs. I do love the look of the Infinity new deal.... so maybe a 9' one of them could be on the radar down the track (if I get my weight down) If my body doesn't allow prone surfing, I'll short board SUP and long board SUP.
For now however, my Sunova Surf 10'4" x 28.5 is a keeper and the ECS might just plug the hole I was trying to fill.
