Yeah the H2 on the long mast very tough learning curve . More of a bigger wave/tow set up. The H2 is high aspect which makes it twitchy plus adding that long mast makes it very hard to Handle. H4 compares to the GoFoil Kai and Naish Thrust Large. Not quiet as much Lift and pump but handles the higher speed better.

The rear wing is not there for Lift it's actually negative Lift for stability. By shimming it up it seems to help with stability and seems to give a bit more bite for pumping. H4 likes it not sure if you need it on the H9 . I'll take them out and try tomorrow. The H9 & 10 are not for sale yet I have the only protos they will go into production soon. But after this mornings session just buy it as soon as it comes out . It will be an insane Downwind Foil.

Wouldn't recommend taking out the H9 or 10 in anything over 2 foot waves. They are so big something will have to give like tearing out of you board no matter how well the boxes are set in. If you caught in the mpact zone .

By packing the rear foil up, what you are doing is getting it intp 'cleaner' water less affected by the front wing and actually makes the foil more efficient for the same given size. Pack the rear wing further (with maybe something a little more streamlined than a washer) and I'd expect to the efficiency of the rear wing improve further.
If you look at any aircraft or foiling sailing boat and you'll see the main wing(s) and rear wing(s) are in two very different horizontal planes, so both foils are clear of any disturbed air/water of the other.

I went ahead and set Tuttle box in board today, I made the foils and fuselage so they are adjustable, so hopefully if i am in the ball park can adjust to suit. Was hoping to still use board for a bit of conventional sup waveriding so was a bit hesitant to go to track mount.
Wing cores are easy to 3d print and vacbag, so can alter plan shape to change centre of lift.

Can't seem to wrap my head around the need for a shim under the mounting plate. Is this due to tail rocker in the board causing mast to angle back when installed?

Go Foils finally arrived at SurfFX . Ordered the 5 pack but not in yet so the boys at SurfFX gave me the 3 pack (Kai , IWA & Maliko 200) to ride until my 5 pack turns up. Put the IWA on first up ( red one top right ) The iphone morphed the photo it's actually much smaller than the blue Maliko 200 top left of pic. Kai is bottom left .

After paddling heavy foils for the last the few months. I noticed the difference in the first 2 strokes the board just glides so much better and my paddle speed is way up. The Go Foils are positive buoyant so that 5 to 7 kgs I've been dragging around on the aluminium mast foils I really noticed the difference and that added weight also takes away litres in your board. The Go Foil felt so nice , stable & fast just paddling out . Having said that once you are up and riding on the heavier foils you don't feel that extra weight and sloppy conditions that added weight can be a plus but can't see myself going back to them.

First wave on the IWA was one of those happy moments foiling , just popped up on take off and flew down the line , no pumping needed the glide was amazing and it turns like the Kai. Amazing session I was frothing . Best large / XL foil I have ridden and now know why Dave Kalama rides the IWA 80% of his foil time on the water.

Next up put on the XOS Maliko 200 on , straight away felt the mast flex similar to the Slingshot H10 which really rocks the boat when you paddle , something to get used to . The big difference on the Go Foil carbon mast vs the Slingshot Ali mast was the GF carbon mast was the wobble was much less. All this goes when you catch a wave , it takes a lot more front pressure to keep it down even shifting it forward. After a couple of waves I was away , crazy glide and when you pull off the wave you are still foiling back out to sea with minimum pumps . Amazing day will set up the cameras tomorrow.

What foil is this Kai is using? The start of his own brand?

Here is my set up. I ride a canard prototype of 1500cm2, mast 70cm, with a 7' Sup. The board have a special box, i don"t need tools to plug my foil and i have a leash witch link the main wing directly to the board #notafraidofrocks


Canard foil works very well for supfoiling and kite foiling.

Does anyone have an Armstrong foil? I thought the Ke Nalu foils looked impressive - but that CF1600 setup is the supermodel of the foiling world!

A bit breathless browsing through the specs - the fuselage is Solid Titanium core shrouded in 5mm solid wall carbon, that's a quality level beyond my wildest dreams.

Would be nice if our NZ cousins could offer us a group-buy on these, their USD pricing is eye-watering, although it's probably well earned.

I thought I better give you some insight into my quality benchmarks - here's my surf foil mount, using 2 pieces of 4x2 oregon epoxied into a council cleanup surfboard, and using tail pad heel blocks cut off another. Surfed this for a couple of months with unsurprisingly limited success before getting RMS to make me a fabulous foilboard

Your wedge that you made for me for my "slingshot" mast arrived today. Looks awesome and can't wait to try it out.

Setup is a Takuma clone on a 9.3 c4 sub vector. Or it was for a half dozen sessions. The through hull system didn't fare well in a head high set. Pulled the broken plastic cutting board plate right through the deck and bent the stainless bolts like licorice. Super lucky not to lose the foil! Back to the drawing board.
