I am not missing anything am I - there is no wave face when you are taking off? (What was under the water at the start of your video?)

The GoPro is flattening the wave at Take Off. It's actually a 4 to 5 foot A Frame that jumps up between the rocks. It then immediately softens to almost nothing. The animal at the beginning was a sizable Stingray.

This crash sequence shows the wave behind me, even if just for a brief instant.

Remember objects in the GoPro are closer than they appear.

Had a great time at Surfest 2018 riding for Surefire Boards on the 9'0" Whiplash. New custom 7'11" VANDAL is on its way in a week.

Here's a new foil never seen it before and a ripping young grom pumping back out through whitewash pretty cool.

Here is an example of a Steep Takeoff on an Overhead Wave in less than perfect conditions with the foil board.

Your stance has me freaked out. I was watching and trying to center my feet. It looks like your front and rear foot are significantly Off-Center line.

I can not fly like that. I get the wobbles. The ball of my front foot has to be dead center. You barely have the tip of your front toe. This snap shot has me thinking your about to crash but you keep on going.

Yeah my feet are way offset never noticed until I started filming myself . That's why I don't use straps just could never get comfortable , few of my mates are also offset. Feels much better carving big turns. Plus you get more drive when you pump because your knees aren't one behind each. That's just my opinion not saying you should do it but works for me.

We were both on same Kai Go Foils, can't see in the video but it's a 20 knot offshore my board was smaller than Guys catching less wind plus I'm about 15 kg heavier so have a bit more momentum. I also push my weight forward through my knees this puts more pressure on the front wing and gives more drive . I use the big go pro stick on and the GP goose neck which I have extended and put a safety lanyard right through , it does break free so you need it but just clicks back together.

An excellent day at box head this week (well two actually). This was one of my longest waves on the second day, unfortunately the first day was better but I didn't have my phone on me. Still pretty good though.

And the swell totally disappears. Time to strap on the XL. There was basically nothing breaking and I was reluctant to go out, but after two epic days at box I needed to warm down. Here's a sample of riding nothing on the Thrust XL (I seem to go nearly as fast pumping as I do on the swell).
