I think there a quite a few people who said they wanted them gone, over a few years, so the fact those who like to redthumb people are vocal in this thread is hardly persuasive. Laurie has all the info.... and it is his site.

Why keep them?

They clearly are causing tension and are a problem. Why cant everyone type what they want without being subject to a red or green thumb?

We all cop it in other aspects of our lives like family, work and social so why put us under scrutiny on here?

It doesn't belong in our already divided forums eg windsurfing/kite boarding, short board/long board.

For me I windsurf, surf and SUP to get away from the bull poo in life and by coming on these forums I can get my fix when not on the water with like minded crew.

I have delayed posting to this thread for a few reasons:
1. Most of the breadth of opinions were canvassed by the second page, so I had nothing sensible to add.
2. I think it is useless to try and convince others to change their opinions. That is the beauty of opinions; they don't necessarily reflect sound logic or rational argument.
3. The surf has been quite good lately.
4. The red/green thumb issue won't have any material effect on my life
5. I think if the administrator wants to act as a benevolent dictator in this instance, then that is fine by me.

So why post now?


well I want to see if this post can go to 10 pages, and thought I should put some skin in the game.

^^^ seems you agree with whomever dished out 2000 red thumbs and about 10 green ones, so you therefore are complicit in the cancelling of red thumbs. So u complain about what you caused. Same logic, door swings both ways.

it took 9 pages laurie for us to stop careing and move back onto tracking children with watches, swimming with watches, silly signs that say anus in them with a bit of health insurance is a scam and so are hoverboards.




this concludes the experiment now its back to business as usual right?
