Who does the nasty dishes at your place? (for those unfortunate people like me that don't have a dishwasher) And.... if you cook should you have to do the dishes too?
Needing some feedback. Ta (greenroomette)

You definately have to do them. If you make the mess you have to clean the mess ! and Mr Greenroom doesn't have time to do them he must go sailing instead !

If he goes sailing the cosmic law of karmic balance says he must cook AND clean AND give you a massage at least, or you are entitled to kick him out and keep half of everything including his sailing kit and his super.

I reckon it should be 'you cook, you clean'. You have to alternate the cooking between you though.

Hi Greenroomette,

Mrs KnotBoard appreciates that I refuse to do laundry; that's why she never has to touch the washing up.

HOWEVER... I have rule that all plates must be rinsed before leaving them on the washing up pile
Mrs Knotboard is allowed to break this rule at her discression

Sorry if I dropped you in it there Greeny.

Our butler normally delegates the job to one of the downstairs maids.

definitely the maid's job, and if she breaks one we dock the $2 a day we pay her.......if she breaks two she gets docked AND can't sleep in the dogs kennel that night, has to pack down under the mango tree.....

Yes I am joking........

......the dog would never let her sleep in the kennel...

One cooks and the other does the dishes. That is the way it has always been in our household. I cook and my husband does the dishes (He really can't cook)

$600 for a dishwasher is one of the few ways I would happily give up a new board/kite to keep the domestic harmony (Sorry Greeny looks like one more season for your old kites )

I'm lucky enough to have a dishwasher and a husband to do the pots and pans, but I just want to know....... Can Cold Water Clean Dishes?

This is for all the germ conscious folks that worry about using cold water to clean.

Frank went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of Georgia .

After spending a great evening chatting the night away, Frank's grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, Frank noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, "Are these plates clean?"

His grandfather replied, "They're as clean as cold water can get them. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!"

For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, Frank was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, "Are you sure these plates are clean?"

Without looking up the old man said, "I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don't you fret, I don't want to hear another word about it!"

Later that afternoon, Frank was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather's dog started to growl, and wouldn't let him pass. Frank yelled and said, "Grandfather, your dog won't let me get to my car".

Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted...

"COLDWATER, GO LAY DOWN!!!!"

Meet Coldwater.....................

Just a point i thought i might add to this thread. The old drying up with a tea towel is one of the most unhygenic things you can do in the kitchen. It is a very common cause of food poisoning.

Ask the boy to help out with the dishes 3 times.

If he (management) refuses to help out, then go out on strike put a total black ban on the kitchen until conditions improve and the safety of the work environment due to the unsafe build up of dishes has been improved.

After a week of strike action, the Dishwasher which you had already ordered should then be installed and ready for action

If you ask, you have a 50/50 chance of a knock back.
Make a decision and go out and get one
