At the beginning of my trip I tried to leave Perth as soon as possible because I wasn't used driving a camper in the city on the "wrong" side. (First time for me)
I headed north and checked nearly all beaches along the way to Geraldton.
I stayed at Point Ledge, Lancelin, Cervantes, Jurien Bay, Leeman, Port Gregory and finally Coronation, where I stayed several days. Loved that spot but not the mouse living with me in the camper.
My gear was often way too big and I had to skip some days. And often I was alone at a wonderful spot (Jurien, Cervantes) and too scared to go for a sail completely alone ...
During hot and windless days I went to the Pinnacles and Rottnest Island and fell in love with those sweet guileless Quokkas.
I skipped Perth on my way to Augusta. Had a very nice sail in the morning at Falcon/Mandurah – where decrepit might have seen me. Liked that spot and the speed guys I met there very much.
Then finally I tried Perth and found Dutch Inn nearly at the end of my holiday.
I should have tried it much earlier.
Next time I will stay much longer in Perth, I love the city and the callenge of my abilities at Duchies.
And nearly most of all the atmosphere and the people there.
Next time I will bring smaller gear and maybe buy/rent a small board – I had defenitely more fun with it (Thanks N. !) :-)
But I fear, David, East Coast will have to wait for another year ....
Still missed many spots around Perth.
C U next summer!
