20k views on the youtube day 3 finals livestream video. 46k for the day 1 highlights. That wont be unique viewers, but thats still a lot of views.
All the windsurfing magazines and websites I follow on FB have links and features to this event.

PWA slalom at Lake Garda videos have between 1.4k & 6.5k views. The PWA/IWT wave events in Chile & Japan have a similar number.

I dont know how much they paid to go there and host it all, but the viewing figures have been good so far, and the photos will be plastered around windsurfing advertising for a while.

What isn't clear and doesn't seem to be getting discussed is Antoine Martin.
In semi final 2 Swift and Pare got cleaned up inside, neither made an attempt to recover their gear both got jet skis to pick up new gear and tow them out the back breaching the rules. Both went through to the final
I believe Martin put in a protest and was inserted into the final (after it started?) a 5 man final
No talk of Martin in the final, no scores for him it's like he wasn't there

He tore a couple of waves to shreds in final, swiftly carved some meaty one. I don't think it was a clear win, mega arial though

Hey guys I got back from Fiji yesterday. What an experience!! To answer some questions

It was surprising how little gear was trashed with the beatings that i witnessed. I only saw a couple masts and sails being wrecked. I'm sure there are heaps of scratches on boards, booms etc though. Bernt's board broke when it got wedged on the pillon of the old WSL judging tower, super unlucky!

The drama in the final with Antoine was about riders using the ski in the semi and going past a marker buoy in the lineup that they had placed for the skis to drop off competitors. I don't know any finer details so that's all I can comment on that.

The production team worked super hard and long hours to make it happen so I think the delay of releasing footage was easily justified.

Baptiste was clearly the best waverider every day and deserved the win.

I got to Fiji late on the first day so missed my opportunity (darn work and family commitments!!) I doubt I would have advanced my first round anyway but it would have been awesome to sail cloudbreak for half an hour with a couple of the current legends of the sport.
I did get one wave after the final at cloudbreak so that was a consolation!

Awesome you made it there mate and at least you got one great wave at pumping Cloudbreak!!

Kudos to Simeon, Ian Muller (Fiji Surf co.) and all the support staff who made this event happen. The media; Fish Bowl Diaries Paul & Sofie amazing photos, Matteo Nativelle on the drone and in the water Jace Panebianco for putting together some sic clips. Lastly our won Paul aka Flying Dutchman with crazy drone footage, online interviews and behind the scenes videos. That this event was so documented will ensure global exposure of these amazing sailors and our sport. Absolutely frothing to get back in the water and upcoming season yeeew!!

Thank you bro. That was super sick work you did. You made for some late night viewing here for me in California! I kept checking this thread all the time to see if you dumped anymore videos. I'm sure you had a whole lot of fun too! I think next time though, you need to bring your kit with you. You can hold your own!
