Hi guys, I've decided that I won't be coming up to Stanley, I've got a niggling shoulder injury & a maybe wind forecast I'll play it cool and keep up with trying to heal it.
As far a the committee goes, sorry but will not be able to accept, too much going on at this time in my life.

AGM called for 9.00am at the caravan park camp kitchen.

Freerace location to be called by 11.00, racing to start at 12ish (when Cookie gets back from West Coast).

Drinks and nibbles around 4.30 for prizes and giggles prior to bbq tea.

Great day today. Plenty of wind and more forecast for tomorrow. But we are all a little trashed. Paul Tenteye won the Cape Country trophy by 390 metres. Adam Morton and Geoff Cook are the proud owners of the Mambo shirts Clarence won the 100 voucher for Stanley weekend participants and James Down is the winner of the second $100 membership prize.

These are some photos of the weekend action. It was tricky to take photos of the actual race on Sunday as competitor worked out that the fastest runs were just outside East Inlet way beyond zoom lens capabilities. Those that sailed this area commented that we could have held a wave sailing contest at the mouth of the Inlet as the combination of remaining easterly swell, westerly winds and an outgoing tide created some great waves. It stayed very windy Sunday afternoon with Alan and Sanden enjoying the chop hopping to be had off the caravan beach car park ( the last 4 photos )

Thanks to everyone who came along, organised, sailed, contributed, competed, analysed results, ate, drank etc and thanks to God for the wind.

I reckon 3/4 of the time we were in Stanley it was over 15 knots- and very steady and solid conditions for a lot of it.

The freerace was in 18-25 knots of cross to offshore wind (depending on where everyone sailed)- quite choppy but very consistent conditions. Despite it being off shore, the wind was filled in right through the bay. Up until this afternoon it was mainly blue skies and 20ish degrees too. .

There were 8 competitors in the freerace and a 11 WT sailors in total on the water over the weekend.

I think we are all recovering tonight, and more official stuff will go up this week.

Regarding the prizes, we had a Windsurfing Tasmania meeting last week (to get through a few administrative matters before the Stanley AGM). It was agreed to make a few random/"lucky door" prizes for competitive members and people attending the Stanley weekend. Minutes and details of that meeting, AGM, committee positions etc will be out to members in the coming days (once we recover from the weekend).

Thanks for putting the pics up Al...great shots. It was an awesome weekend and more wind than expected. Still a bit sore after the freerace which was hard work but fun. Hopefully we can get a few more next year. Stanley is a great place to hang out and there are plenty of other activities to do if the wind is a bit light.

Well done on the win Paul. It cant have been easy out there with the big gear. An hour in those conditions is a real workout and in the end, the result was really close!
