just been looking at other prices for 2009 gear. Have to say i give point seven a score of 0.7 out of 10 for thier prices.

I have had 2 Point-7's for about a year now,
i imported them directly from them just to give them a go,

i have a 5.7 09' Swell and a 6.7 09' AC2

heres my thought on both of them

5.7 Swell. very nice to use, is pretty user friendly regarding the rigging and you can always crank on a bit more downhaul and it will handle ok in the stronger winds.
good amount of backhand pressure lets you know how much power you have to spare.
not an overly crisp feel but not dull either.
CONS - unfortunately the arent overly strong. especially the battens i have broken 3 battens in mine ( yes i got rinsed a few times by a few waves so its to be expected)
but other than that its pretty good.

6.7 AC2 is a 2 cam sport slalom orientated sail. i found it to be a little picky about the mast. it is recommended that it be set on a 430, bit i found it to be too soft and gutless with a SDM 430. now i use a cut down 460 in it and it is great!
very stable and pretty quick.
its a bit on the heavy side but that is because they use thicker mono for strength i guess.
Excellent sail tho IMO.

Any Q's just ask me!

I have an 09 5.7 swell the same as Maverick 40. It is black with the silhouette of a naked women on, so I think it's awesome!! I really like the way it performs too!! The black spectra means it dries out within minutes of leaving the water, although it might deteriorate when summer starts??

yours is a 4.7 Sado. mine is a 5.7 swell.

Nick0 yes i have used a few other brands of wave sail. mostly Tushingham Rocks.
they feel more crisp than a rock.

Depending on what you weigh and how good you are, the Swell is less powerfull than the sado but it is meant to be Bcoz its meant for wave sailing.
If your just doing B&J type stuff the sado will be better.

I can get planning on a 95lt wave board in about 16-18kts with my 5.7 swell - thats bagged right out with not much Dhaul.

just depends on how you rig it and what you skill level is.

Sado for power
Swell for comfort and controll.

I wouldn't go any bigger than a 5.4m on your Goya, and nothing is going to be as powerful as the hucker, but the hucker is no good for the surf as it runs a low foot and hollow battens, I have sailed the 5.6m and it's way to powerful for a wave board, it's power output is more like a 6.6m, it's more suited to a small freeride board. 100% stick with the wave sails..

Your only light so the bigest sail you should ever need would be a 5.4m if you want to sail in the surf.. Check out what the local guys are using around Newcastle to get a better idea..
