awesome imagine how many loops he could do from the heights he jumps

I think he was one of the first to regularly pull doubles if i'm thinking of the right guy.

i reposted this vid on a social utility site and they were just awestruck..either 45-50 +/-3kts is still nukin' and my hats off to Dale with big cajonesthere was a guy called years ago in the Gorge named aptly 'Seargent Loop' for doing 3loops everytime he gets big air and those are back not forward..if anyone can name this guy it'd be nice to recall

I don't know about triples (bit dubious) but I think it was Tony "sgt Loop" Barbarelli - or something like that... I remember him doing double forwards on the Rushwind movie "Spread the Word" still one of the best windsurf vids of all time IMHO

I think you got it Fletchuz..it sounded like an Italian name in a mag a decade ago..i saw the pic by pic move and i'd bet my old booties it was backloops and isn't it early 90's most guys weren't interested so much in forwards??

it could have been back loops you saw, he may have done both. In spread the word tony was throwing double forwards though.

Early 90s & italian & outrageous loops wouid be cessare cantigalli (sp???), was it at the gorge?

So does the hucker have the oldschool feel ben is talking about?

I think that's the mojo,

i think the hucker just has a deep draft.

like your jason pryde kit for example.

reckon he bails cos he gets hit with a huge gust - look at how the board just get's torn of him

Yeah to me it looks like it just ripped out of his hands rather than conciously bailing. Very cool though.

I had a 4.8m Hucker few years back it doesn't have a deeper draught but it does have a tighter leech which generates heaps of lift and if your not ready for it can throw you over the front from having more power up higher in the sail.
The 4.8 was as powerful as a 5.5m freeride sail wish they went back to making powerful small race sails they were fun to use.

Hi Choco,

i think the shape may have changed from then as in the video bruce says they are still twisty sails it's just the coe is higher and the draft deeper.

the KA kult is definately like this also (why i use them) athough probably not as deep in the draft. the NP alpha is also similar.

surprised to here the retro is a flatter twisty sail now. i used to use retros in light winds years back. i loved them for early planing.
