On my small knowledge I believe that until I get confident with the harness I should be able to learn how to set up the Boom height and the Harness lines distance so I should probably get an adjustable 26/32 harness line.
I saw that dakine makes a lot of nice harness lines adjustable also while you are sailing.
Have you try them out?

If you get adjustables stay clear of ones with aluminium grips as they corrode and stop gripping..not fun when your 26" line suddenly becomes 32" & your arms can't reach the boom![}:)]

It's good to see that there are different point of view.
The most important thing is that all of you agree about spending some time and swears on learning how to water start, and I understand already why ...
Last week I got stuck downwind for like 30 minutes after I figure out how to go upwind ...
I will look for some good but not crazy expensive lines and my kite-friend that has 3 different harness will let me try them so that I can decide which model fits better my chest.
There are now 18-23 knots estimated the whole week-end so I am not sure how much I will able to do, for sure I will spend the whole week-end on the beach!

Decide which type of harness suits you first before you get the harness lines.
We can offer advice on length but it really is personal preference.
For a start you could just try some rope knotted on to your boom with some plastic tubing slipped over the hanging part so you can experiment with lengths.
You want your arms to be almost fully extended when hooked in in your sailing position, with boom between shoulder and chin height.
How tall are you?

Enjoy that wind! We haven't had any good wind here for a while, so we are very envious!
