My last wisdom tooth developed a nasty abscess, so it had to come out.
It had tangled curly roots so had to be surgically removed..
Dentist said it'd be much easier if I trimmed the beard.
No worries it's time for my annual haircut anyway.
But I thought I'd make it real easy for him, after all he's got those torture tools in my mouth, (scalpel, drill and pliers).

Yesterday morning.

This morning

First time I've seen my face for 25 years, got a bit of a shock, still seems very strange looking in the mirror.
Weirdest thing was feeling the draft on my chin every time I breath.

Don't think it'll stay like this very long.

Tooth came out real easy, (after he'd drilled the roots out thru my jawbone). loaded up with pain killers at the moment, hopefully be back to normal before the wind on Wednesday.

Hope the recovery is quick.
Gone into shock at the prospect of a naked chin myself!
Next you will be getting your eyebrows waxed. Wife has always tried to get me to do it!

Get a T shirt or two with DECREPIT in big type on the front and back so we will all recognize you!!!!!!
I bet your drivers licence looks like some other bloke as well, and watch out no-one tries to stop you breaking into Decreps wheels.[}:)]
On a serious note I hope the jaw feels OK.

Thanks every body for advice and well wishers.

It's started growing back already, wife is complaining of "sandpaper face", smooching is severely limited until it grows softer. (about a week I think)

Took a pain killer before I went to bed last night, thinking I'd need another in the night, but I had a good nights sleep, without a problem. It's fine now. can only feel a slight discomfort.

For the pain of the tooth, or the anguish of cutting the beard off?

Call me whatever you like.

Wednesday, may sail here in the bay, could be a blast.
I'm not going to join you in Bunno unless you can guarantee low tide.

Look out ladies,

Decrep's clean shaven and on the prowl!!

Wow, big difference. Think of all that parasitic drag that you've eliminated! I'm expecting to see some big numbers showing up later this week

Interesting splice.

I think the short hair with the long beard would look good...

and I think you're very brave.
1. for getting such a determined tooth removed
2. for shaving after all those years!
3. for posting your pics on this forum (but thankyou)

really shows the difference doesn't it.

Maybe, but it's unlikely to happen, beard and hair gets trimmed at the same time, and grow back at about the same rate.

I thought you were going to say, "for posting the pick on this forum"

I'm sure you could afford to throw in an extra haircut here and there...
They are a lot less painful than dentist visits!
On two counts...
