I had a boge failure a little while ago. It was I believe typical. It wasn't the rubber that failed but the nut moulded into the rubber. It was some metal different from the stainless pin that screwed into it so it corroded and there was no way to see what was going on until it failed. The webbing strap doesn't do anything when that happens but with a slight redesign it could help.
That's two examples of design incompetence in one product.


I like the rubber joint because it is more flexible than the tendon and I suspect it absorbs shock a bit better.
Does anyone know of a decent brand with sensible functional design?
