So far I can't even find the specs except for the number of cams and battens.

First rig of my 7m FG2.
Rigged on a 460 ezzy rdm as I couldn't afford a new mast too but looks darn good to me. The mast slid all the way up the sail with ease and then I came to a bit of a problem. The end of the rope on my extension was slightly frayed and by the time I had managed to squeeze it through the first two pulleys it had frayed some more and I couldn't get it through the last. With about 2/3 downhaul applied the cams popped on effortlessly.
Even with only two pulleys threaded full downhaul was easily achieved which gives a slight loose leach to the top two panels.
With the boom set to spec and the outhaul neutral there is about 3cm gap for a bit of positive if you need it. With the battens tensions there is hardly a wrinkle in the sail and seems to rotate beautifully. After a few uses I may end up with a Cam spacer or two in the lower 2 cams.
Might get to use it tomorrow.

Same Problem with 7.0 Foilglide I. Space above pulley is just too narrow. Inserting the rope is always very tricky. Just not enough space between pulleys and metal clip above. Eben with original dynamea rope delevered with severne extension.

Apart from this minor restriction I love the Foilglide. Great sail for foiling.

I will cut my rope at 45deg and put a bit of super glue on the end, should help to thread it a bit easier.

Frayed end of the downhaul rope has gotta be one of my windsurfing pet peeves

I only buy sails that are 100% grid! no monofilm, Aerotech makes a foil sail AeroFoil with two cams and 100% grid. But right now I am happy with my FreeSpeed sails for foiling.

Does the FG2 7.0 have RDM cams as standard? still no info on Severne site....

Yes.
I don't think you will see anything on the website untill its official release in Europe next month.
Still haven't used mine yet as its been too windy in WA, should get a lot of use in autumn though.

I'm toying with the idea of getting the FoilGlide2 7m. I already have a 460 mast so it would just be the cost of the sail.

Severne Gators (4.5, 5.5,6, 6.5) currently make up my quiver and I've fairly new to foiling (5 sessions in). I'm hoping to find a sail to help get TOW on the foil in light wind condition (8 to 15 knots). My technique is likely a big part of the problem but I'm finding it difficult to get up on the foil consistently in less than 15 knots even on my 6.5 so I'm hoping a foil specific sail with cams in 7m will help.

Any thoughts on this and whether this is money well spent. I'm hoping to make this my last sail purchase for a while.

I'm also curious to know how a 6m Gator would compare to 6m FoilGlide2. I've never sailed a cam sail so unsure how they differ.

I bought the foilglide 2 7.0 as a high wind sail. IMO, it doesn't pump at all well compared to say a hyperglide 8m on an SDM/mdm mast. When I pump the fg2 7, the 460 rdm sags off and then comes back slowly. It doesn't snap back. Still, with the 3 cams it's a very light sail, feels silky smooth & the leech doesn't flutter like the original fg. It's a very nice sail in the hand & a delight to use. Should be usable from 12kn & up but you're going to have to pump to get flying. Never sailed the gator.

What you would you guys recommend doing to get more TOW in the lighter stuff given my existing quiver and without going crazy spending a fortune?

Options I'm considering:
- Buy a new FG2 7m: $1250
- Buy a new FG2 8m: $1250+
- Buy one or two 2nd hand non-foil specific >7m sails for $400+ each. (Overdrive Mach 2, Turbo GT, R8, NCX)
- Hyperglide sail options...

For the last two options I've got no idea what I'm doing and really unsure of the differences in these sails and how well they would be suited to foiling and my level of skill (beginner on foil, rusty returning windsurfer after 20+ years away from the sport).

Gear I currently have:
Foiling:
- Fanatic Stingray 140L
- Fanatic Flow 1500 foil

Sails:
- Severn Gators (4.5, 5.5, 6, 6.5)

Fin Board: Starboard AIR Freewave 103L

The old 7.0 FG (2020) will definitely increase the TOW in your case and will fit your needs as you dont want to race. The Sail works well in light wind, but has its limits at around 12/13 knts (beaufort 4). But then you should be ok with the gators 5.5-6.5 you have.

I guess, the windrange should be wider with the new FG 2021 with 5 battens/3cams, what I think is a big benefit. Considering your 1500wing, i'd go for FG 7.0.

For me personally I keep the (old) 7.0 for the light winds, but got now a FGO 6.0 (nearly identical to FGII 2021) for 13 knts and more. Smaller, wider wind Range cuz of the extra batten/extra cam and it is rigged on the same mast as the 7.0, thats great.

Had my proper first go on my FG2 7m on Monday. I'm 100kg ATM. Wind started at 13-16 . I had applied Max downhaul as I was expecting it to pick up and had it set with -3 CM outhaul. Pumped up easily at 13kn and no pumping required at 16kn. It soon picked up 16-20 and became a bit of a hand full until I gave it Max outhaul. Though well powered up it behaved really well until some of the gusts edged just over 20 and it became a bit back handed. Even though it's not a race sail it's no slouch, even in my modest hands with the SB GTR got a top 2s of 25.7kn. Probably not the kind of foiling it was aimed at but does it quite well.
