The whole topic went off the rails becuaee while its great to admire a pro's performance its hards to seperate what we see and hear about there general behaviour and attitude.

There has been some comments about some other pro's recently and how the image put out by media is different to what you encounter.

I have seen first hand on two sides of the country a east coast young pro's attitude in the water and it sucks.

First time was a south west spot with two US pro's, Jack Freestone (amazing and shared the waves) and the nameless one. Not super crowded and fun. Everyone including these guys were sharing and in rotation except the nameless one who just wanted as many as possible.

Saw it again at Snapper where surprising not that busy off the rocks but only a two wave set every five minutes. One for the nameless one and one for everyone else.

I was happy sitting wide and getting a few but watched on wondering why someone has to be such a pig just becuase you can.

The image and the reality can be far apart.

Who's the nameless one?
Julian bieber?

Just a young aussie pro.

About same age or bit older than Jack Freestone but my experience in the water with them both was chalk and cheese.

Remember surfing an un-named outer reef about 10 years ago when Taj rocked up with his old man.
was blown away with how chilled he was in the water, as I kinda thought he'd be the opposite.
Maybe it was the presence of his old boy in the water with him?

Na he is always like that, a mate who lives down that way surfs with him alot.
He sits deeper than every body but only takes waves after everyone else has had some. Ive spoken to him a couple of times and is a nice humble bloke.

Doggie

It was at the time of the major comp.

Brett Simpson, Gabe Kling, and Jack Freestone and the other young aussie pro were all out at a down south swell magnet. BR may help with guess where.

For three out of four they just waited their turn and shared with the rest of us.

Saw the same aussie on east coast and behaviour no better.

Where'd the topic go?

Sorry about that .. a regular here created a extra 'Garcia' login, and went sick across not just this topic, but across others forums as well. Pretty much trashed the topic.

I'm guessing they were full of grog, as it was not anywhere near their normal posts... interesting what people do with mutliple logins.
