All sounds like fireballs gets the thumbs up.I also have a 8'6" sunova wood decking
local guy use to be here but believe now on your side of the coast great board very light and easy to ride. What about overseas trips who recons they have found that great longboard destination? I mainly go to Bali but now too crowded
although I went in the wet season last year and was surprised with the good breaks sanur side of island and less crowded.Anyway looking at getting away this year some pretty good deals with all this loom and gloom around

We've been going to Bali for sometime now alway's action in and out of the water
I alway's said I have to visit Hawaii before my time is doneSo we went Sep 07 and Sep 08,I wanted to visit the Islands of ALOHA, Kaua'i was fantastic small place and the locals very nice! Surfed Pine Trees the Iron brothers break!and also Hanalei Bay only small four foot but at least we surfed it,this break can hit 40foot!
Over on Oahu,we surfed around Waikiki, some really nice longboard waves there. On our three week trip the surf at its worst was 2 foot but most day's around 3 to 4 foot!on the south shore! as EDDIE would say JUST GO!

Bert Burger, after getting done over in the Firewire controversy is actually now popping out most of his boards from somewhere in Asia...a far cry from the the old Mandurah shed

Hey pooman, was that you who had the problem with the Firewire?Sorry just read your earlier post

mac

Some of the McTavish boards are, or, were made OS,in the beginning I could notice the differance from an OS to OZ made,I don't know if they are still making some boards OS,Best to order a custom, then you know its made in OZ

Huey (countable and uncountable; plural Hueys)
1. A diminutive of the male given name Hugh.
2. (uncountable) surfing god who creates surf ,waves, and associated conditions.

The forum would be offered as a gift to Surf God Huey who would surely reward our kindness with good waves.

I ride short boards most of the time. I have a couple of long boards. I think it would be a shame if we lost all you blokes to a forum for longies.

Hey Doc bring it on mate there just isnt the same dose of sole out there these days.

Hi Guys, since im living in Polar Bear country > Sweden, And we are not as prone to get waves that much.
I have a questions maybe some of you dudes on Wave blessed places can anwser ? :)

Im a 94kg guy, 191cm tall and been riding a Naish 10´6, big board, i catch most waves, but I lack the "turnability"...so...

Now on my car roof lies a McTavish FireBall 9´3, waiting to be put into the 3 degree celsius water :D (just free of ice btw :)

But, have I choosen the right board for my lenght/weight ?, or should I go back and replace it with a 9´6 ?

Waves comes maybe once per month ;) so I might not get a chance soon to test the board, although seriously thinking about getting my somewhat overweight pal to stand in the water infront of me and hop up & down to generate some waves.

The "problem" is that a 9´6 will arrive to Sweden by boat in like 5 weeks, and only 1, so either i go with my 9´3, or I wait and pre-book the 9´6.

What you guys think ?, stick with the 9´3 (and bere in mind, here we get at best like shoulderheight waves, at best ;) or wait 5-6 weeks with no surf, for the 9´6 ?

Seeya on the lineup if you choose to come to Sweden and surf :), we may have ****ty waves, but ...i reckon we smile just as much as you guys do when we catch a wave :D

If you get shoulder high waves the 9.3 will be perfect ,keeping your weight in mind!
I am 100 kg's and ride 9.4 x 23 x 3!
If the surf is small /weak,go the 9.6,but shoulder high the 9.3 will be sweet [}:)]

Hi , great with so quick quick response

Ill stick then with my 9´3 and hope I can still ride knee high waves with this one

The fin attach to the board was a 7", doesnt that feel like way too small a fin ?
(2 small fins where also included) but as far as ive understood, singlefin is the best for nooseriding ?, and the included 7", should I replace that one with a 9" ?

Thanks again for a great forum

My thinking is a bit simplistic when it comes to centre fin lengths for longboards if it's a 10' board a 10" fin if its a 9' board I use a 9" fin - I also run really small side bites. Then again the missus runs a 8" fin in her 9'1" but she also weights a little less than I do.

if you want to do a lot of nose riding your best getting a fin that carries it's thinkness further down the foil becuase there's less of the fin in the water.

I have 7 inch centre fins in my 9.4's, and they help turn the board on a dime!
On my 9.6 single,I run a 9 inch!
Knee high waves on a 9.3 hmm,if its low tide great but very hard work high tide!
