So far I've moved the tail pad, looking at different fins options and now have some good idea that Its not just me, others have had a similar issue or experience..
Funny that ...
You're thinking about putting slicks on the Prado and lowering it to try and change its nature.

So your saying just except the tail slide ...
Yep. Use it to your advantage. Tail sliding boards can be heaps of fun.
If you want a board for steep hollow waves, get a board for steep hollow waves. Yours is 20 3/4" wide FFS and 2 5/8" thick with full rails. For me (different measurements to you) I'd be looking < 19" x 2 3/8" with a very much smaller tail and refined rails.
Why are you surprised at how one of their least performance shapes performs? They have about 30 boards further up in the range, some obviously designed for HP surfing at places like Trestles, some obviously designed for hollow waves. The one you chose is designed to be forgiving and fun, not hold a sharp line in difficult conditions. Not turn sharp in the pocket. Bust the tail loose over a section, sure, maybe. Use it for what it is.
As I said I'm on a similar philosophy board right now and you make the most of it. I don't expect deep barrels and critical placement and big rail turns. I will try for little airs and slides and busting loose instead. Occasionally I'll experience exactly what you are but you compensate and make it fun.
I'm a kook, can't surf at all ...
