I find the hole idea of red thumbs so boring, and quite honestly a gutless way of posting. I think if people have something to say be it positive or negative post it. If not get lost

Most on the site are anonymous anyway. But they still can't say when they disagree with someones post. so they just thumb it[}:)]

I'm pretty sure this is the spot that one of Bakesy's mates nearly scalped himself...

Too sketchy for me (but hey, I won't even surf Toms).

Why not mate? Might as well say it as it will keep drive by crews away if you say the area is a sharks nest or jagged reef and rocks are submerged underneath that wave

Just the rocks on the inside... I just don't like having to think about where I am along the line and when that n-head is going to pop-up and bite me... by the sounds of things JB seems to have found them the hard way a couple of times...

IMO my announcing my dislike for the rocks at Tom's is not going to lessen the crowds there... I rate the wave though - especially the left on a bigger day on the right tide.

If you look close you'll see a guy get a three second barrel, we only filmed for ten minutes that day the rest of the epicness is my hard drive between my ears Lets face it the best waves in this state are reefies that will cause you pain at some point if you surf them often enough, can think of a couple that getting in and out of is very, very sketchy but the risk is worth the reward, just got back from another two hour session this arvo, hope you all got a few today

G'day Bakesy. Clearly that's a good wave and from what you have posted delivers the goods regularly. I've surfed plenty of reefs, but after losing a bit of skin when I was younger and having suffered some serious injuries through cycling accidents, I now like to stick to beachies or 'soft' reefs that are pretty flat and 'obvious', as I like to be able to commit to a bit of size and pushing out a few moves without having to worry about where the rocks are...

Kudos to the blokes that have that place wired and score...

Reef doesn't really bother me, until i hit it

I sadly surf mostly with Reef but will say Booties are the best thing i ever did. especially for the slow walk out and in when we all tend to look a little stupid and drunk

But i don't like taking of with reef exposed inside me, it really freaks me out and i normally spook myself to much to make the section. Best reef can often be the one you don't see

haha nah mate. Just Tom's. I won't name spots but I've surfed most of metro. For some reason Tom's just gives me the heeby jeebys. I'd even prefer cott on a low tide with the reef sticking out. Taking off too deep there has made for some fun paddle ins If the swell and tides are right, I'm normally round the corner from there! And I agree, reefs are where it's at although after a storm the beachies are good for a few weeks...

There is no reef at Cott except in summer when Dummies is uncovered. Or Slimeys up the other end.

Tell that to my back Hey mate, think I saw ya out surfing the other day. Was that you catching waves left right and centre off a certain groyne and chatting with a bloke with dreadies (on what looked like a mini smmons)?

love yr posts but can't believe the locals aren't angry. I was taken there by a rock brother once and it seemed the other locals were not so happy with ntheir new friend even if he was with the rock
