So I figure that there's 10 or so regulars that use this forum. If each person invited one person that would double the number of reply's , topics and possible regular users?.

So Legian- you say that you are interested in local issues eg beaches , tracks ect and it sounds like you have a lot to offer. Lets have some topics and discussions.
You never know who will read it and it only takes one person to say something interesting that will make a difference.
Hovever there is actually an "unspoken" code of silence about different spots . I think its fair to say that we all are against advertising our spots that we surf
However we're all friendly and Im sure if your nice and PM somone you might get a reply
After discovering that the majority of people who use surf forums in Australia are using the other/them/eastcoast sites,
Im thinking that Legian could be onto something that could work- Focuss on local WA turf. Saying that ALL topics across Australia are welcome.
Just thinking out loud here. Any other thoughts???

I can see what you are saying (I love to say that) Ive got 2 friends (I have actually got more friends my facebook says so) that use this site on a regular basis but would never use the forums, one who came to Indo with me read every post on our trip but never commented, and he is a keen surfer. I dont know what would actually attract people, I think the current members that dont use it should be targeted but still not sure how you would do it.

i recon yous do a great job in the forum department, most of your and Kearnsy`s advice is spot on, by the sounds of things yous do a lot for the sport in general, like giving up your time to teach people to surf, good on ya, good karma's heading your way me thinks.

a few surfers around here, mainly a come rape and pillage then leave thing, you can all-ways tell when a swells coming......

The very nature of the topics I'm interested in means they're not the sort of ones anyone would want to take part in. I.e. I want to know secrets and inside info but I don't want it exposed on a public forum. I get a lot of info from surreptitious research. E.g. I read 4wd forums for track info and look at photos in peoples trip reports for wave and beach info. Etc.

Anyway, I'll start a topic for you.

Oh yeah, and I want to know about Thommo's neighbourhood and where his avatar pics are taken. I've got a guess about the last one but I'm not that familiar with the area.

I'm a competitive, aggressive prick and you don't want me around your spot. And I surf alone so even though I'll spoil your surf there's only one of me.

that just about sums it up.

Great topic Kearnsy.
I am guilty of reading and not posting.
A forum does get more interesting when more people contribute to it.
Keep up the good work boys.

Hai guys,

The names Rayne and I reside at Burleigh, which also happens to be my local. 23 years of age and have been surfing for 14 of them. Finishing up architecture at uni this year before I plan to go live in Indo for a good chunk of next year!
