So true, I love my Sea Eagles however I'm disappointed that they have been associated with gambling over the past couple of years, particularly this year with renaming of Brookie to Lottoland or what ever it is.

I understand that each club has an association with a betting provider and the NRL has an official partner. Read yesterday that the NRL agreement is on a revenue share ie the more people bet on the NRL the more money it makes. In saying that I understand the NRL position - betting is going to happen regardless of our involvement we might as well benefit from it. Maybe the NRL could contribute a % of these funds to gambling education courses for players etc.

Whilst not illegal I don't think it sends a great message to the younger viewers, by all means have a punt, I certainly do & I,m not doing the "will someone think about the kids" but simply refrain from referencing, advertising or promoting gambling during children's viewing ie before say 7.30pm.

Whats interesting is that the powers of be of these sports have tried to push the fact that by being in bed with them it works better for them in the long run as they can have influence and a seat at the table. The NRL might just have pulled this off when you think about it. Amazing. Still its seems to have a taken a very long time to extract a few betting records

Pumped for this season.
Not because I think Souths will do any good but more excited in seeing the talenting young sides of Panthers & Raiders performing well.
The past few years has seen me enjoy the NRL as a whole and not just supporting my team.
Looking forward to the Fox coverage this season.

Its a joke every second advert shown during a game and half the teams are sponsored by a betting company or casino,well Packer just changed that some what. Double standards.
