Lucky guy, I'd love to spend more time over there. I could get a job in the NT health services easily & live in Bali. But my missus profession is tied here & she's in a good place. One day I will buy like 6 return tickets when a special is on & go over for a month or 2 at a time. Do like it here too apart from the bloody sharks...
Heaps of bules living there these days. Luckily or not so luckily they (Indo's) just keep building more & more accomodation, so I doubt it will ever get expensive for accomodation in our life time.
North Sumatra-Small but a ball This right is really good, hollow and fast especially through the inside where it gets shallow, several sneaker sets came through this session which caught us out of position to get them, such a great wave
fun A Frame out front,it barrels,is fast and wally, not a great pic to do the wave justice but will post a couple showing how good it can be even on a small day
Better day at the A Frame it'll handle 6-8 ft with right swell direction but really needs a bit of offshore on it to stop it sectioning off, this morning it was bowling right through and id say this was one of my better waves as I was having a shocker after 2 days of 3 two hour surfs per day after being out of action for 6 months, surprising i even got to my feet.Had a rest day the next day took some drugs and was back into it.Seems like as Im getting older I'm packing more pharmaceuticals each trip than I'm packing surf gear
Looks filth Ricardo, spew'n I didn't end up going...you were surfing bloody good for someone who had been out of the water so long. Stoked to hear/see you had a great trip & hope to see more pics. Always nice to see pics of the land too I reckon.
And how was Bali Doubt small crowded Ulu's would have impressed you much after Sumatra lol
Yeah Mick Its has great variety of waves, really uncrowded and a good vibe with the local islanders, alcohol is the only problem as its sharia law but you can bring duty free in or pay premium price for a slab but its a hassle.
Indosurflife appears to be on holiday, but in case anyone was interested Slim posted some tide charts he scored off Peter Neely. I've been frothing to see these & stoked to see near perfect tides for my trip in 2 weeks, just need swell & all should be well
Thanks mate, just finished packing 4 boards & the rest of my gear. Let me know if your popping over to Geger beach for a beer. I'll be down there most arvo's. I'll start a blog tomorrow or the next day. Hope to cya there, cheers
