Yeah, some good things happening around these parts also.

I look at a few of your cams yesterday, Burleigh looked the goods but the one that impress me most was the Pass at Byron.

mr doggie, i reckon you and the intire surfing population of perth are. i have been getting my fill but am having to travel along distance to score. my last surf in perth [triggs] i watched a longboarder and shortboarder go the tonk over knee high closeouts couldnt belive it! there were kids and novices everywhere[sunday morning] watching it unfold, and i think both these clowns would have been pushing 50. guess some people dont get smarter with age. lack of waves drives people crazy!!!!

As bad as the east coast was this summer, I reckon I’ve had the best summer of surf’n evar, simply because I lucked out and got a second board that suited it perfectly, 10’ & 23.25” with over 100cc of volume.

So while everyone else was sitting at home complaining about the dribblers, I was out having fun on the dribblers.

I’ve had to put it away now and I’m back to being just one of the guys picking off the scraps that others leave behind.

I’m almost at the stage where I hope next summer will be as bad as the last, then I get just one good one and those thoughts all disappear.

Hang in there boys, things are bound to get better.

Nice one Mac. We have a little bit of swell but low tides make it tricky in mornings. I took down a smaller craft to deal with the low tides this morning and found that the waves were a lot better for longboarding than I thought

Gonna take out the F/B tomorrow, poor board it has already had a hard life I've had it in the shop twice already and it has a bit of damage from the unintentional head butt I gave it last weekend

Hopefully I will not get ambitious and just wait for the right sets this time. Every time I ding it I think of my next one bieng an Epoxy. The board does really well its just the neglect of the operator.

Hey Souwester, thanks for the update mate. I've been caught out taking the wrong board before I took up sup'ing and was keen to get my skill level up but longboarding is my first love.
On small day's I would take the sup out and the swell picked up and watching my longboard friends getting into it and think damm I wish I had my board. Other times I would take out my single fin cruiser only to find it too was the wrong board for the day.So I started taking the sup, single fin and FB,sometimes I go for a surf with one and swap to another, too many boards it can do your head in
Having said that, I am just taking my new Razar out of late [}:)]

Strapped the F/B on this morning and was not dissapointed, swell looks to have built over night.

Scored a few good left beachies, not as many as my goofy footed mate
I was trying in vien for a right hander but ended up chasing the lefts with him and another bloke on a home made board, he scored a ripper on it, must have been proud

Got a nice left that started out hollow and fast, the F/B loves that stuff, then it walled up and I got it most of the way to the beach, was so stoked. Sitting at work still thinking about it. Actually better get back to it

Tsunami surf today, as you probably heard all the beaches were close due to the warning. I went down at 8 am the warning was for 8.30 so I waited until 8.15 and paddled out in a mega high tide around the corner from the qky pro sight. The tide was so high some of the site was under water It felt weird with some many people on the headland waiting for something to happen, thank god it didn't,I feel for the people of Chile.

Did anyone on the east coast go out

Yes, morning and arvo at longy, morning was a bit better but neither was anything to rave about.

The morning tide may have been a tad higher.

I tried to take a look at the snapper surfcam on coastal watch but it's not on, just a bunch of charts. The cams on either side of snapper seem to be working.

I'm guessing it's something to do with sponsorship rights to the quicky

Things are pretty bad in Sydney this weekend but I still got wet and scored a few tiddlers in a southern corner.

Big news is, I have a new deal with the old girl, every second Sunday we shop at night so that I can be in the water at daybreak and tomorrow it's my turn.

Betcha it's crap again

It certainly looks that way No better down south. 2ft+ if lucky. Least the V8's and footy are back on.
I 'll have a go in the morning for "worship" before retiring to the lounge for a relaxing Sunday.

Hey mac - there were a few complaints last year about how small the surf was in the early stages and bleet bleet bleet about how it didn't suit the "real surfers" and didn't give a true representation of who was actually the best - so it will be interesting to see this year if the swell really gets up this year how many sooks complain about it being too big and not fair ...................
Just love it hey - comps really bring out the best and worst in people - as you know mate, you can only the surf the waves on offer on the day and the person that surfs the conditions the best on the day wins and it's as simple as that. (oops wrong forum )

Good luck to everyone competing at Noosa - hope you all get good/safe conditions and have a few cleansing ales for those of us who are unable to get to the festival.

Too true Billboard and didn't they have a cry last year
By the looks of the weather pattern heading south, its going
to be epic I think. It will soon sort the men from the boy's out [}:)]

Hows the back going, you must be doing back flips back prone surfing
again.
