crikey, I feel like a nipper at 45 compared to you geezers.....
i do a few yoga stretches before I surf, works wonders. Had lower back dramas for years and sup is def the best thing for it, but I know that if I overdo it I will pay. The good old surfers round here hardly ever surf a long time. They're out for 45-1hr, surf well and get on with whatever else it is. I try and limit it to an hour, otherwise I'm just risking it.
take schussler mag/phos tablets before you surf too, they help your muscles to relax. Coffee is meant to increase your endurance by about 25%.
this must be your first trip to the Maldives, because once you get there, if the surf is good, you won't want to get out of the water. Drink heaps as the heat of the air and the water (it's worse I reckon) pulls so much out of you. Don't over do it either, the heat will make you feel like you can and then hit you like a ton of bricks later in the day.
have fun, ,it's unreal.
