I'd Go a rudder on that..
coming from no experience what so ever but I just imagine myself wanting a rudder at my foot to improve the ability to steer the board with ease on super long flat water paddles.
ben knows his stuff with design the board will glide so nice I am sure
Yeah i'm not so sure a rudder will be any real help, the boards going to go straight and is designed for flat water so not sure when a rudder would come into play. It will still turn nicely of the tail so turning will not be issue.
Ocean boards foresure rudders are needed as they are great for side wind days but flat water boards i think it just makes things more complicated than they need to be.
But getting back to the tail to turn it will take three weeks walking back that far
rudder for making it easier to simply steer. Us mere mortals can't rail steer a board like you guns do with so much ease. Or tail pivot turn in minus 2 seconds flat.
Yeah it's flat water but when is flat water ever just flat water, I paddle in canals and pine river in Brisbane that always seem to have side wind and boat chop and oddly moving currents that surely a rudder just improves your overall speed to micro adjust the boards position with out the need to move around on the board much?
As I say I haven't paddled an unlimited flat water so don't have experience just thoughts.
Next question, if rudder is out then what about the option of the American idea of ventral if going long and straight is the idea ??
