Yep it needs to be done.

ISA in peru tested all medal paddlers at the games this year and will test all medal paddlers again this time.

I don't see why BOP or any other professional race should be any different.

Test away i say

I guess there would be a need for this eventually, but the sport seems to have come a long way quickly if its at this stage now, besides the top two or three in the world that may be on some decent bucks wouldn't of thought cheating is worth a free board or two and some travel but maybe I'm way off the mark, and if it stops any speculation that may start to surface its a good thing,
now did someone say Maccas

desire/ competitive nature makes people do things. pressure from sponsors etc would be there too..

it would be naive to think sup is clean

I'm clearly very naive then. I'm with Camo, I simply didn't think the $$$ were there for that sort of stuff. Along with the fact when I think about SUP racing I think of clean living folk, certainly not drug cheats.

The cubbies are urine tested all the time ,in and out of comp season. They have been known to knock on the door of some top Iron Mens homes at 6am with the little jar in hand.

Yer Lacey, I've been known to have my head the sand about certain things in the past,
but anyways as long as all sportspeople from Olympians to afl/Nrl footballers right through to Supracers are treated as innocent until proven otherwise its all good.

you guys are kidding. a win by rider for a brand means big sales boosts particularly in america. hence the pressure on the paddler. agree he's probably not in the money

Expensive process for organisers. These are ASADA Fees:

Current fees and charges
The following table is a list of fees and charges for various services commonly provided by ASADA.

These charges are valid for all services provided from the 1st of January 2012. All charges are per test unless otherwise stated, and are inclusive of GST.

ASADA may negotiate revised unit costs where clients enter into contracts for significant testing programs involving combined urine and blood testing.

Such costs are subject to negotiation and would reflect the increased efficiencies of such arrangements.
