I actually have a board that is 170L but is 28 3/4 wide and 12 foot long. It's an Atlantis Venom. It is meant for big waves (gun shape) but I have been using it in bay surf in 0-3ft and it has been great fun but is a beast to carry around. Cannot hurt anyone as its not packed like a beach and I can't slam it into the sand as the wave breaks over 100m from shore.



I reckon for lesser weights like me 62-70kg (depending on season) these thinner performance shorter boards can actually be decent paddlers and have enough stability. I would love to try an Insane even in 1-3ft bay surf.
