Hey Nozza
Very cool looking board
Just back from Hobart
do you really need a nother board with all the windsurfing fin boxes etc
Think about the stresses that windsurfing imparts onto a split board like torque through the length etc
Particularly with mast ahead of the split.
I would ditch them and go surfing pure
By the way I am loving the PSH 12
maybe you don't want your collection of them any more.
Another Merimbula trip early in the year should be high priority

Aloha

Want the windsurf stuff - I may never windsurf it but If I don't have the option I definitely won't.
Am re thinking the two piece though.

I'm with Alohahugo on all points.

So when are we all going to Merimbula Helmy?
Hugo, Feb. sometime?

I am sure I am not going to get an answer to this but how did the balsa get stuck down? They have only CNC cut the deck so the blank cant have gone in a bag. I dont think you could get a good enough seal taping the bag to the foam? Maybe it's enough as you dont need much pressure? The balsa panel is also perfectly cut to fit the deck. CNC cut maybe? Really nice work.
Another great board for the collection Nozza.

Can I suggest you make sure to get the tough original grey carbon rails, not the rails my last two boards came with - they fracture easily.

lukemin said..
Hey cantSUPenough,
Do you know what the difference is on the rails, old to new?

Tardy said..
Great advise ...i got the extra carbon strip put on my Hulk after seeing a few fractures (from paddle ) on the placid

This reply to the "Rails" questions from Dylan

"Basically there is nothing that has changed in the layup or construction of our boards, the rails are still exactly the same as they were before however what has changed on certain boards is the colour or finish of the rails.. Brushed Silver/Grey masks all paddle whacks and knocks unbelievably well, this is why we haven't changed the look of our XXX boards for so long because of how well they stand up. However if you have no paint over carbon, sprayed rails (not brushed), or lighter colours they won't hide the paddle knocks as well and you will get some surface scarring or spiderwebbing on the fibreglass.. With the coloured boards like yours we can cover the black section, however with natural wood boards it is pretty much impossible as the carbon part has to sit between the wood."

More info on the build process in the Ningaloo thread here

But link doesn't seem to be working - had to past it in to the browser.

Or

" And it is at the stage in the production process of....
Currently CNC'd core!
Balsa skin vaccumed with glass underneath wood!
Carbon on rails!....."

RED HOT!

It was quite amazing.
While they were painting the board I got to confirm colours were what I wanted, adjust the fade, change the spec. on how the rails were going to be treated, comment on the paintwork at the join, see what was happening like I was there.
All thanks to Dylan and his crew.
