Downwinding seems like hard work ... a lot of paddling to catch those wind swells. So if it's windy enough to downwind, I am more likely to kite foil it. But the surf wing seems like it offers potential ... just enough of a wind boost to get you on foil, ride the swells, then a little wind boost again when come off plane. I wonder if that might end up as the missing ingredient to make this more easily doable? I would sure like to try.

Btw, I saw a photo somewhere with a paddle attached to the wing center strut...so if wind dies, you can just deflate and paddle back. Smart!

Downwind is hard to learn but the best fun ever once the technique is sorted. It's my number 1 sport. Wing surfer might be easier and I might try but I am certain it will not replace foil downwinding for me.

I agree with Scotty. Downwind foiling is epic, very hard to learn but super satisfying when you work out how to do it. Its also way too addictive when you work it out??
