I'm not 100% happy with my boltrope slugs and not really at a stage where I can change the rig to track and car. My problem is the nylon slugs seem to jam when raising and lowering the main.

I replaced them with longer style slugs when I first purchaced the yacht but still no avail. I see the picture below the slugs have a wheel at the back of the slug , not sure on that purpose or if it would solve my problem.

I was thinking of wheels on the sides but so far are unable to track anything likewise. has anyone here got any recommendations to solve me problem?

I'd have a good look at the track itself and the masthead sheave, Rumblefish can also access these if you are handy to him.

New Genoa into fuller, mainsail track..no more problems... I use beeswax ,cost loose change from Bunnings, they call it furnisher polish, easy to apply.

Im surprised no ones mentioned it. Someone told me once use dish washing liquid as a lubricant to aid main sheet track/slug jamming, and for a temporary fix it works well, we used it many times. And if it rains track is left very clean

I have used this www.blackwoods.com.au/lubricants-lubrication-equipment/lubricants-low-friction/dry-glide-with-ptfe/crc-3040-dry-glide-with-teflon-150gram/p/00919632 for various jobs and it would probably help as well if you sprayed it on the slugs and in the track

It drys and leaves a slippery film on the surfaces

It is not cheap but works well

All depends on which 'Madge' you're talking about, the American one (Jan Shiner) died in 2004 and the Australian one one still lives in Corrimal near Wollongong. Her brother Chris, is more well known than she is.
