I dont get it.. What makes this superior to other hydrafoil boards? Isnt it more logical to have a crossover wave/hydraboard. Also, arent foil kites much better for racing?
Its not superior. Its inferior. Foil kites and dedicated foil boards are much better for racing. But Cabrinha don't have a competitive foil kite or hydrafoil. They are missing out on the a market. This is their idea to capture the market. I'm guessing they are hoping or lobbying for the kiting at the Olympics and this one kite, hf to be adopted as the standard. If that happens it will be one big massive cash cow.

Nah. Everyone is entitled to try and make money. They are putting their balls on the line with the concept. If it works great for them. If not,,,,,,,,
Somebody will be interested in this. Who knows it might be the next big thing?
But will the best racers in the world race? I doubt they will other than perhaps an olympics as the best racers in the world are currently sponsered by kite companies. I suspect those other kite companies will become emotional if their sponsered rider is on somebody else's gear.
When it comes to the olympics countries fund athlete's that might be successful at winning medals. So that platform may allow for top riders to race a one manufacturer scenario.
