Hi Sir V,
Great pics mate,
Im heading over, 3/Aug, can't wait. Was wondering what size kite you're on there ? Wind looks pretty light. wind Predictions look light as well.
Any other tips ?
Cheers mate
Hey mate, wind was light. I'm on a 11M Drifter and my 153 Shinn Wave, weight 73kgs. But there were guys on Zephyrs not being able to hold ground so it helps to have good kite skills
bearbusa said..Looks a great place no doubt and the skills to ride the foil is great to see.
Can i ask why the foil is on a SB and not a twinny !!
Just cant see the sense in ridding a SB 2 foot above the water in no waves , the foils will have there place no doubt with certain crew looking for something different , but for the surf purist cant see it being the goods
Again the shots are fantastic Sir V and the foil doers look impressive

Totally valid question. The board is custom for me, made by MHL Custom on my specs. I wanted a board that could be ridden as a SB so I only have to take one board when I go wave chasing it works. I gave them the measurements of what I wanted, quad, and they made it 'exactly'

.. I have already congratulated myself many times because the SB rides like a dream mate. So, on days when the surf is mushy or not worth taking the foil.. I ride the surfboard. The other days I just put the foil mast on and away I go.I must say I am not a TT rider, don't get much pleasure out of it. My Shinn Wave is a mutant and as you can see I ride toeside most of the time. I only took it to Aitutaki because I knew it would be too shallow for my foil. It is however my favourite TT / Mutant - of all time. You can't falter the Shinn Wave mate, collector's item and no longer available. I am so glad I got it on advice from a mate in Sydney.. wouldn't sell it for Gold

There you go.. there's always a valid reason.
Cheers,
V
