How many hot snowboarding chicks are there!! Is it part of the selection criteria??

www.olympics.com.au/news/preview-aussie-women-ready-for-halfpipe-challenge

watching women do extreme sports is usually pretty painfull though. It's like watching a white man dance or a newborn girrafe trying to take it's first steps. All uncoordinated and legs, no amplitude or style.

OK, obviously its not part of the selection criteria. I did notice quite a few hoties whilst watching the event.

Hottest women are definitely the Russian women's curling team .i think curling is an ice version of lawn bowls with a heavy kettle like rock and lots of broom sweeping .its actually quite interesting .im in japan and they are obsessed .its on all the time

Medal tally might not count for much at the moment. Very possible that an Aussie girl is about to make winter Olympic history. That means more in my opinion that a high medal tally from countries that have hundreds of millions of athletes to choose from.

Didn't happen though
Lydia came 3rd after backslapping in the freestyle aerial. Toughest jump tempted in girls skiing though.

Those crashes are sickening but what's more amazing is just how far those guys fly. Have they dumbed down the ski jumping (safety issues) since then?

Have found all the Cross-Country Skiing events great to watch - an activity that can be done cheaply and with ease in Victoria and NSW. And I do :)

The "V Style" became popular just after the above video. They jump a lot further now.

246m (that's 1/4 of a kilometre!)

That is just insane but at these Olympics the polish winner on the big hill "only" jumped a max 140metres. Is it measured from the take off point at the olympics but the world record is a measurement of both ramp and distance? Will have to google!

EDIT - Olympics only have the normal and Large hill comps.

Today, FIS Ski Jumping World Cup are held on three types of hills:

Normal hill competitions
for which the calculation line is found at approximately 80?100 metres (260?330 ft). Distances of up to and over 110 metres (360 ft) can be reached.
Large hill competitions
for which the calculation line is found at approximately 120?130 metres (390?430 ft). Distances of over 145 metres (476 ft) can be obtained on the larger hills. Both individual and team competitions are run on these hills.
Ski-flying competitions
for which the calculation line is found at 185 metres (607 ft). The Ski Flying World Record of 246.5 metres (809 ft) is held by Johan Remen Evensen, and was set in Vikersundbakken, Norway in February 2011.

Must agree with Mr Float
Watched a ladies curling event the other day. Russia vs GBR. Awesome looking ladies on both sides and the first time curling made sense to me.
All they need to do is introduce a lingerie curling league like they have for American football and it would be my favorite winter sport
A little disappointed by the Swiss team
